<kwestia> Heya, when is the dead line for the current down payment?
<DocScrutinizer05> we hope to reach enough pre-orders to do the first most urgent risk sourcing end of month
<kwestia> will i have any way to pay after that (in the next 2-3 months)?
<DocScrutinizer05> yes, but it's unclear if we can satisfy all sourcing needs for late orders. worst case we have to tell you that you moved to a possible second production batch unless we manage to source more of part XY until production of first batch starts
<DocScrutinizer05> we will over-commit on the qty of early risk parts we source, to handle axactly such late orders, but obviously we can't do arbitrary amount in this regard
<DocScrutinizer05> exactly*
<kwestia> understood. thank you!

<dos1> https://marc.info/?l=openbsd-misc&m=143355112811564&w=2 - a "nice" (Linus style ;)) mail from OpenBSD's Theo de Raadt about closed firmwares
<Wizzup> It's hardly Linux-style
<Wizzup> s/Linux/Linus/
<Wizzup> Linus flames maintainers and people he knows, Theo flames everyone, and is generally much worse
<DocScrutinizer05> dos1: thanks a lot for this awesome link :-)
<DocScrutinizer05> I maybe don't agree on his style (though mine often isn't any better ;-D ) but I for sure agree on the facts
<DocScrutinizer05> it 100% applies to our WLAN chip situation, just we didn't buy those WLAN modules "accidentally" but simply because we couldn't find any better ones that would "fit into the device"
<dos1> Wizzup: well, "niceness" is Linus style. the way and the place it was applied might be not, but that's not what I meant ;)
