What is the current price and device count planned? (both complete devices and separate mobos)
che11 has joined #neo900
<DocScrutinizer05>
fling: we have no current price, we have an estimation that's only slightly _above_ our original estimation which been without stuff like 1GB RAM and other goodies we added later on popular demand. We have only total count (not distinguishing between NeoN and complete device) which is 400some
<DocScrutinizer05>
and yes, I *really* hope for the whole thing rolling out this year. Or possibly i'll lose all my hair over that project
<fling>
Ok, thanks for your work! :}
<DocScrutinizer05>
just this minute I'm doing 'useful' 'fun' stuff though like fighting gangsters robbing Neo900 UG bank account by bank withdrawals which you need to dispute or they will go legit, no matter how rogue and bogus they are
<DocScrutinizer05>
dang! I'm EE, NOT accountant or merchant

eur/rur exchange rate goes down so I might be willing to send one more payment after a while…
<DocScrutinizer05>
welcome :-)
<fling>
OMG What withdrawals?
<DocScrutinizer05>
random rogue dude handing in bulk withdrawal from NNNNNN accounts to his bank
<DocScrutinizer05>
1% will succeed since going unnoticed
<fling>
How is this even possible?
<DocScrutinizer05>
you have 8(?) weeks to dispute any such rogue withdrawal or it will succeed
<DocScrutinizer05>
google "Bankeinzugsverfahren"
<fling>
I don't get what 'rogue withdrawal' is. Ok, googling.
<DocScrutinizer05>
money transfer between two bank accounts initiated by destination, not source
<DocScrutinizer05>
*very* idiotic thing
<DocScrutinizer05>
you cannot opt out
<fling>
Last time I asked how is it going you guys were fighting with banks not willing to move the funds to the proper account…
<DocScrutinizer05>
you have to process each single one of the disputes, with TAN and all
<DocScrutinizer05>
I wonder how you'd possibly even do that once they go up to 100s per week
<DocScrutinizer05>
the above been filtered for 29.94 - there been other similar ones too
<jake42>
maybe obfusicate the account number on neo900.org would help?
<jake42>
I thought it's possible to opt out, at least for business accounts
<DocScrutinizer05>
dunno
<DocScrutinizer05>
going to ask DB
<DocScrutinizer05>
jake42: thanks!
<jake42>
yw, but lets see if it's really possible
<DocScrutinizer05>
nope, not possible. Called DB service line
<DocScrutinizer05>
they told me what I already knew: no opt-out whatsoever, please report an offence to police and/or contact the withdrawing party to check what's wrong#
<jake42>

semi-sorted anyway
<DocScrutinizer05>
called 1&1 and GMX
<DocScrutinizer05>
so it's sorted till next DoS-alike attack from another 'serious' company that got abused by some fraudulent jerk
<DocScrutinizer05>
pondering to contact police so this dude (yes, it's only one person) gets at least same hassle I suffered from his abuse of Neo900 account data
<Wizzup>
do it

who's gonna recompensate me for all the expense? (time wasted, phonecalls - that was well >1h for now already)
<DocScrutinizer05>
contacting polica has potential to eat anothr 5..8h total
<DocScrutinizer05>
plus travel to their office

and then they have a record of not following up on such stuff when it "takes too much effort" to really find out whom to blame
<DocScrutinizer05>
note the footnote "...not possible yet"
<DocScrutinizer05>
wow that's nasty. Sth locked up in my N900 yesterday. I wss able to do phonecalls and send SMS for a while, but now it didn't act on any clicks on homescreen anymore (except long-press to enable edit mode, and klick on ok to exit edit mode, as well as click to hildon status menu which worked just fine) - a `killall hildon-home` did it and replayed a few notifications for "SMS sent" and "New SMS inbound: 1" which I missed yesterday
<DocScrutinizer05>
I also noticed occasional audio problems (PA stuttering) during phonecall - sth I basically never seen/heard before

<DocScrutinizer05>
hmm, I tend to blame recaller which is implemented as a subprocess of hildon-home it seems
<DocScrutinizer05>
really nasty concept
<DocScrutinizer05>
a hickup in *any* of those applets tears down whole hildon-home and this - when causing e.g. segfault - reders the complete system broken and trapped in a reboot loop (dsme rebooting system when a process - here hildon-home - respawns too often)
<DocScrutinizer05>
I guess recaler for example needs a refacturing, turning it into a proper autonomous process that maybe just communicates with a stub behind the desktop icon
