<cyrozap> A bunch of Cypress dev kits arrived in the mail today :)
<fpgacraft1> <YanLuoWang> nice
<cyrozap> I ordered a couple of those PSoC 4200M sticks with the built-in KitProg 2 and a 4200L (the PSoC 4 with 8 UDBs) kit, also with built-in KitProg 2. I also got the BLE mouse dev kit that comes with a MiniProg3, since I want to make an OpenOCD driver for it, too.
<pointfree> yay!

<carl0s> cyrozap, great!
<carl0s> there's people working on support for all PSoC 4 sub-families on OOCD also.

<cyrozap> So, funny story
<cyrozap> I was just experiencing an issue on my laptop where, after running a program, all my USB devices would seem to disappear (missing in lsusb, dmesg reports disconnect, etc.)
<fpgacraft1> <YanLuoWang> you had a dev board and shorted the vbus?
<cyrozap> It turns out that the modifications I had made to the program would make it try to probe every USB device on the system, not just the ones with the right VID/PID
<fpgacraft1> <YanLuoWang> aw, that's a boring software issue with no potential for magic smoke

<cyrozap> So when I ran it with "sudo", it did a libusb_detach_kernel_driver() to all my devices.
* cyrozap facepalms
<lain> lol
<cyrozap> It took me two reboots before I went "oh... *right*."
<cyrozap> In my defense, it was modified vendor code: https://github.com/cyrozap/libcyusbserial/blob/master/tools/cyusbserialtest.c
<jn__> Vendor: cyrozap :P
<cyrozap> jn__: Vendor: Our favorite PSoC manufacturer
<jn__> Cyrozapress
<cyrozap> lol
* cyrozap files incorporation paperwork

<nats`> thx :)
<pointfree> I'll write up a formula in infix for the openfpga wiki momentarily.
<pointfree> I'm hoping the formulas for the other PSoC routing blocks will be just as concise as for the horizontal segments. The HV switching will be. Not sure about the switching matrix to the port interface lines.

<rqou> offtopic question (azonenberg_work?): i have one of these (https://goo.gl/photos/bk8j7g2zigaPPsi18) pcb inspection microscopes, but my friends borrowed it and lost the rubber eyepiece thingies. what is the search term to find a replacement?
<lain> the search term is go beat up your friends until they find it :<
<lain> :P
<rqou> i tried that already :P
<azonenberg_work> rqou: microscope eye cup
<azonenberg_work> ?
<nats`> I always remove them
<nats`> they become unclean pretty fast
<rqou> azonenberg_work: yeah, that's it. thanks
<rqou> yeah, these were pretty dirty anyways
<rqou> this microscope is pretty crappy overall but i got it for "free" so i can't complain
<rqou> the power cord heats up when i test-run my chinese pcb reflow oven. i should probably worry
<rqou> whitequark
<mtp> uh
<mtp> yes
<mtp> increase the wire gauge?
<lain> lol
<lain> is it the chinese power cord that came with it?
<lain> if so, throw it out
<lain> even if the equipment is good, power cords from china often have false ratings on them
<lain> this has caused at least one fire in my life :P
<qu1j0t3> :((((
<qu1j0t3> wasn't that supposed to be illegal at one time...
* qu1j0t3 dredges through vague memories
* qu1j0t3 wonders if those memories were implanted
<lain> it probably is illegal, but no more or less illegal than the fake UL / CE markings
<rqou> it's the chinese power cord that came with at least one of my from-china pieces of equipment
<lain> hehe
<rqou> i'll probably use it to power my "fume extractor"
<rqou> which consists of two raidmax pc fans hooked up to some piece of crap 300w or whatever mini-itx psu
<rqou> with a paper clip shorting the power-on pin
<rqou> note to self: order a box of iec power cords
<lain> hah
<lain> rqou: see my PM from the other day, btw?
<rqou> about minecraft?
