<kyak> a guy decides to move to Debian to solve his problems with OpenWrt :) well, that's definitely one less problem for us :)
<wolfspraul> who is that guy and what was the reason?
<wolfspraul> oh I see, on the list...
<kyak> the reason.. i don't know.. i'm not really reading everything he writes
<kyak> i just find it funny because he has no idea where he is diving to
<wpwrak> fascinating, isn't it ? :)
<jow_laptop> kyak: OpenWrt trunk r28658 should solve the menuconfig crazyness
<wolfspraul> jow_laptop: thanks for the headsup!
<wolfspraul> kyak: so much for the Debian attempt :-)
<wpwrak> he reminds me a bit of various LILO users who came to me to ask for help
<wpwrak> many of those stories began with some small innocent mistake that would have been very easy to recover from. they tried to force things, making the situation worse but not hopeless. finally, they did something radical, like deleting and reinstalling LILO and all the files it had created. then they asked for help, typically because they had blown their MBR, including the partition table.
<wpwrak> of course, at that point, all i could do is point out at which step they had burned the last bridge, and maybe tell them about some of the chancy recovery procedures still possible at that point ...
