ZetaR: I can confirm libwildmidi is missing from the repositories that are expected to contain whats needed for the install of cssu, I could also help in reproducing the issue as well as dig up licence(s) the lib(s) are provided under
<ilon>
ZetaR: my problem is I would like to have a working guide for "new" people trying to install cssu, or people like myself, comming back to maemo after years with less superior OS's
<ilon>
ZetaR: But for example; I do not know HOW I could get the libwildmidi0 into the correct repository, so that "normal" users can install cssu without going to the command line

<DocScrutinizer05>
ilon: in *theory* I still can place any package into any repo aiui
<DocScrutinizer05>
I won't do so however, unless asked to do so by council
<ilon>
DocScrutinizer05: I wouldn't want you to either, I would really like to know the proper way of getting things in there tho, and how i could help veryfying the licences on packages currently not in the repository
<DocScrutinizer05>
for verifying licences: it's the Linux / FOSS global way to do
<ilon>
as I've understood, verifying that the license allows the package to be included in the repository is one of the tideous tasks of getting old packages in there
<ilon>
DocScrutinizer05: What do you mean by "it's the Linux / FOSS global way to do"?
<DocScrutinizer05>
not really, but particularly gstreamer-bad addons are encumbered by patent issues
<ilon>
righty
<DocScrutinizer05>
so I don't know how and why it came to be a dependency of CSSU
<DocScrutinizer05>
please pester merlin1991, it smells like a *huge* packaging mistake
<ilon>
DocScrutinizer05: I'll bug merlin about it then :)
<DocScrutinizer05>

DocScrutinizer05: hmm ... even debian has gstreamer -bad and -ugly in main/ these days
<DocScrutinizer05>
mhm, then it prolly isn't that bad
<bencoh>
yeah :)
<DocScrutinizer05>
again, that's not my primary field of expertise
<DocScrutinizer05>
I can review a particular case when I know it's needed, but I'm not a packager
<DocScrutinizer05>
please check with the CSSU guys
<bencoh>
yeah, discussing about it on the appropriate channel already :)
<ilon>
:D
<ilon>
What have i started? ;D
<DocScrutinizer05>
ilon: the right thing
<DocScrutinizer05>
when CSSU actually doesn't install, that's a major concern
<ilon>
yes
<ilon>
agreed
