after you have done that; boot from SD card, you should have mmcblk1, which is emmc, and you can install the u-boot (_emmc.bin) to the emmc and it should boot (atleast the u-boot console) if that happens, we're golden :) i'll check back here later :)

cubear: try rygel ... it can run as a daemon (even though usually it's run inside a gnome session), see examples/docs dir for init examples... it's the most DNLA-compliant solution I know.
