<KotCzarny>
no
<KotCzarny>
only some gpios support ints

Hmm, the datasheet is vague: 32 extern PIO interrupt sources. Maybe it's the EINT pinmux function?
<KotCzarny>
see particular soc manual for tables

in lichee's u-boot there was no OSAL_Power_Set:<axp22, eldo1> and OSAL_Power_Enable:<axp22, eldo1> in logs so I ssueme kerenel also doesn't enable this regulator. Any ideas?

:p
mavkhimenia has quit [Ping timeout: 260 seconds]
<paulk-gagarine>
anarsoul|2, well, there are different options
<paulk-gagarine>
the major issue here is that only X can create planes
<paulk-gagarine>
so one solution is to have a dedicated DDX and do it with XV
<paulk-gagarine>
(which was pretty much crafted for the purpose if I'm not mistaken)
<paulk-gagarine>
on wayland, we might have to write a compositor
<anarsoul|2>
I see
<paulk-gagarine>
the situation is far from ideal
<paulk-gagarine>
but we'll try to make the best of it
<paulk-gagarine>
and contribute support where it's needed
<paulk-gagarine>
using planes also means that the video will be on top of every other layer
<anarsoul|2>
paulk-gagarine: would it be easier if you implemented vdpau backend?
<paulk-gagarine>
anarsoul|2, no, it wouldn't change anything
<anarsoul|2>
paulk-gagarine: so video decoder can output only in this tiled format?
<paulk-gagarine>
yup
<anarsoul|2>
yeah, sometimes hardware guys make difficult to understand decisions...
<paulk-gagarine>
well I'm a hardware guy and I full understand the decision :p
<paulk-gagarine>
tiled is way more adapted to video
<anarsoul|2>
paulk-gagarine: well, I understand *their* motivation
<paulk-gagarine>
one half-way solution would be to use the display engine to only convert it to regular YUV or RGB and then get that buffer back into Xorg
<paulk-gagarine>
so not using planes
<paulk-gagarine>
I'm not totally sure this can be done with the hardware
<paulk-gagarine>
or what the perfs would be like
<anarsoul|2>
paulk-gagarine: that's one extra copy, right?
<paulk-gagarine>
yes, too
<paulk-gagarine>
anarsoul|2, although this solution won't work for scaling
<paulk-gagarine>
and most people do want scaling
<anarsoul|2>
right
<anarsoul|2>
paulk-gagarine: mali can do scaling though
<paulk-gagarine>
well, maybe it could also do the scaling
<paulk-gagarine>
anarsoul|2, I'm not using the mali
<paulk-gagarine>
of course all of this can be solved by just using the mali to do compositing
<anarsoul|2>
paulk-gagarine: maybe try looking at lima? I know it's not ready yet even for compositing, but I think you should be able to display 2 textured triangles
<paulk-gagarine>
anarsoul|2, hehe
<paulk-gagarine>
yeah I know
<Putti>
solved my problem with hdmi on h2+ board, I 64MB was not enough memory, but 80MB was
tom_nov has quit [Quit: Leaving]
<anarsoul|2>
paulk-gagarine: in theory it should be possible to untile the buffer using lima at its current state
<paulk-gagarine>
ohh nice
<anarsoul|2>
however yuv420 makes it more difficult... Probably you'll need to do 8 tiles a draw
<anarsoul|2>
utgard supports 16 samplers, you need 2 samplers per tile
<anarsoul|2>
that's still an extra copy, but it should be way faster than CPU
<anarsoul|2>
paulk-gagarine: well, it shouldn't be too hard to try. Just take a shader that converts yuv420p to rgb, modify it to do several tiles per draw, do several draws

mirko: opening an egl context does not require X11 or wayland, some people like to complicate things and call it a standard, you *can* take shortcuts when you get bored http://pichost.org/image/GINnx
<pmpp>
btw X11 or wayland without working glamor layer is complete uselessness
<paulk-gagarine>
Putti, note that you need the headers from the kernel installed for it to build
<paulk-gagarine>
Putti, there might still be an issue with mpeg4, I did ditch it from the driver at the last minute
<Putti>
paulk-gagarine, I solved the mpeg4 part by applying florent's mpeg4 patch, but now it is complaining "va_config.c:247:1: error: expected declaration or statement at end of input
<Putti>
"
<Putti>
{ return VA_STATUS_ERROR_UNKNOWN; }
<Putti>
I guess I'm doing something wrong with the libva includes
<mirko>
pmpp: tell me more :)
<pmpp>
mirko: X11 is about 2D rendering, blit any xvfb or vnc buffer on Qt surface, to have X11 support
<mirko>
from my naive understanding: an application passes some gl foo to gl libraries which eventually gets passed to the drawing layer as sth. like pixmaps
<pmpp>
i tend to use turbovnc because it is neon accellerated
<pmpp>
for egl just open directly egl context without going through glx
<mirko>
pmpp: i never talked about glx
<mirko>
some apps rely on a window manager underneath though
<pmpp>
only GLX apps
<pmpp>
egl is about viewport not windows
<mirko>
that's why i'm trying to get the wayland / x11 mali blobs working
<mirko>
pmpp: if applications link e.g. against libx11 for handling their windows - then i can't easily workaround the x11 dependency
<pmpp>
are you sure ? :p
