<BenG83>
I think there are some variants of the same AXP with different default configs
<wens>
A83T w/ AXP813 ~ H8 w/ AXP818
<wens>
register and datasheet wise, AXP813 = AXP818

wens: thanks
<ElBarto>
AXP803 looks exactly the same too
<ElBarto>
same IC type number
<ElBarto>
just no codec in it ?
<ElBarto>
ah no DCDC7 on axp803 and no DC1SW on axp818, unless the datasheets a lying

Hi, i like to create a buildroot image for by banana pi m2 zero. The kernel is booting, but it stops with "mmc1: queuing unknown CIS tuple 0x80 (2 bytes) "(=> https://pastebin.com/R9jQFZE3). Any hint?
<BenG83>
does your sdio device have power?
<BenG83>
and is Model: Xunlong Orange Pi Zero compatible with your board?
<KotCzarny>
and hiding sensitive information from prying eyes
<BenG83>
;P
<lwh`>
so removing it would damage something?
<KotCzarny>
if you do it badly, there is such chance
<BenG83>
depending on how/if stuff is thermaly connected you need new thermal pads
<lwh`>
and I thought anything in my life would be easy
<BenG83>
what are you looking for?
<BenG83>
is there no teardown of that phone?\
<lwh`>
It's not a phone, it's a alcatel onetouch pixi 3
<lwh`>
it's stack in a boot loop (I really hate android) so I thought I will uart it like my polaroid
<BenG83>
have you checked xda-developers? this is a bit OT for linux-sunxi ;)
<lwh`>
yes, I did. They have custom rom for every model except 3 (7)

power over OTG: on Pine64, despite not being mentioned in the docs, it used to work for me in the past. Doesn't seem to anymore, either on mainline nor BSP kernels/u-boot. Am I doing something wrong?
<kilobyte>
(actually, what I'm looking for, is _any_ machine that powers over something that shows up as /sys/class/power_supply/usb*/, to fix issues in powermgmt-base)

kilobyte, so some board that has an AXP and can be powered via the OTG port
<kilobyte>
well, I'm ignorant about electric issues :( Is any of these good: Pine64, Pinebook, NanoPi Neo H3, Omega OAN133 (A10) ?
<kilobyte>
I remember Pine64 working this way, but I can't seem to reproduce anymore
<BenG83>
the power pins are not connected on pine64's OTG connector
<kilobyte>
if I recall correctly, I had regular power supply connected, attached OTG cable, tried doing things, pulled the power... yet it stayed powered on and worked
<BenG83>
yeah electrically that works but only within range of the current limiters
<BenG83>
but it's not detected by the PMIC
<BenG83>
the AXP* driver provides the info if it's properly wired up
<BenG83>
Allwinner based tablet should have that
<BenG83>
I have an Olimex Lime2 that can be powered by OTG, but it has no PMIC
<kilobyte>
so even if I managed to get it working again, it wouldn't show up in /sys/class/power_supply/usb/ -- which is what I'm looking for right now
<BenG83>
yeah
<BenG83>
you need a board where the different inputs on the AXP are not tied together
<BenG83>
so it can decide what it
<BenG83>
it's current power source is
<kilobyte>
so I can't test this on any of devices I own, thanks
<kilobyte>
of the many types recognized by kernel POWER_SUPPLY_TYPE_: USB, USB_DCP, USB_CDP, USB_ACA, USB_TYPE_C, USB_PD, USB_DRP -- do you have an idea if it's reasonable to assume the power is non rationed?
<kilobyte>
I mean, it can come from a laptop or a power bank, but that's quite rare -- no different than "Mains" coming from a disconnected UPS
