ELLIOTTCABLE changed the topic of #elliottcable to: a _better_ cult ˙ ͜ʟ˙ embrace, extend, extinguish.
<joelteon>
one template haskell per second?
Sorella_ has quit [Quit: Ex-Chat]
<incomprehensibly>
ELLIOTTCABLE: fuck that's like $500 a month
<incomprehensibly>
jesus
<incomprehensibly>
alexgordon: i don't like the MLs at all
<alexgordon>
really?
<incomprehensibly>
alexgordon: like probably for dumb reasons
<incomprehensibly>
i just really don't
<alexgordon>
why
<incomprehensibly>
the reason i like haskell is it's like a dependency graph of computations
<incomprehensibly>
not because of purity
<incomprehensibly>
ml is not like a dependency graph
<incomprehensibly>
like i mean i don't use haskell these days at all anyway
<incomprehensibly>
but like, there are ways that langauges can structure programs that are: like laziness in the good ways, none of the supposed "unpredictable performance" of laziness, also good at interactive things and async things
<incomprehensibly>
but ml is just let's go back to linear imperative
<incomprehensibly>
so that makes me mad about it
<incomprehensibly>
i also just hate the global syntax of like function definition is a statement
<incomprehensibly>
like maybe that's specific to ocaml, i don't know sml
<alexgordon>
sml syntax is much better IMO
<incomprehensibly>
ok brb getting some food before i get back to this cs homework v_v
