<DocScrutinizer05>
hi! what do you think about silego phasing out the SLG46531? did you already look into the diffs to 37? is something similar known pending for 33?
<DocScrutinizer05>
(sorry to whitequark for crossposting)
<azonenberg>
DocScrutinizer05: they're phasing out the 31?
<azonenberg>
i have not seen any info to that effect
<DocScrutinizer05>
yep
<azonenberg>
I haven't done any toolchain dev on gp5 yet
<azonenberg>
i'll look into it when i get on the boat in half an hour
<DocScrutinizer05>
new 37 a supposedly designated successor
<azonenberg>
Yes, thats the impression i am getting from glancing at the website
<azonenberg>
might be a die shrink or something
<azonenberg>
is it bitstream compatible?
<azonenberg>
i'll look
<DocScrutinizer05>
it seems to be bitstrem complete, according to wpwrak's crash review
<azonenberg>
Yeah in that case i'm gonna say its probably a die shrink
<azonenberg>
or maybe just process adjustments / bug fixes
<azonenberg>
i;'d have called it the 46531A or something
<DocScrutinizer05>
most likely, yep. they came up with that new nasty MSTQFN-22
<azonenberg>
That's the -M package
<azonenberg>
the -V is the same size
<azonenberg>
as the old part
<azonenberg>
It's possible they changed the io pad layout to be compatible with the new high-density packaging
<azonenberg>
and/or did a die shrink to make the chip fit
<azonenberg>
and kept essentially the same RTL
<DocScrutinizer05>
:nod:
<azonenberg>
Heading out to work now, bbiab
<DocScrutinizer05>
they changed a lock bit for one of the 4(?) banks though, according to wpwrak
<DocScrutinizer05>
>> <wpwrak> had a 2nd look at the new i2c protection bit. seems that they had a hole in the old designs, where you could overwrite some acmp and lut settings. however, they it seems that, if you use the new bit, it blocks all writes, including to the i2c-writeable register (that has no other purpose). guess they'll have something left to do for the next spin :) <<
<azonenberg>
ah so def sounds like a bug fix respin
<azonenberg>
anyway _work is logging off now so i wont see anything you send until i get home :p
<azonenberg>
