<cyrozap> rqou: They recently defaulted to using Wayland instead of X
<rqou> but i'm definitely not running wayland
<rqou> (blame NVIDIA)

<rqou> i noticed that the gdm greeter defaulted to using wayland a while ago, but i'm not using gdm because it too is broken in magical ways
<cyrozap> rqou: Are you suuuuuuure? If you log out and click the gear next to "Sign in", is your session "GNOME" or "GNOME on Xorg"?
<rqou> my session is "awesome WM"
<cyrozap> Oh, you aren't using gdm
<rqou> i'm not running gnome shell
<rqou> just various gnome bits
<cyrozap> Hm, well then I got nothing :P

<cyrozap> azonenberg, digshadow1: https://jsfiddle.net/vxqdc233/
<cyrozap> I adapted the SiMap code to use Leaflet (http://leafletjs.com/) instead of Google Maps.
<cyrozap> The code is actually simpler than for Google Maps, since you can set the CRS to "L.CRS.Simple", which is basically a 1:1 pixel to point mapping.
<azonenberg> cyrozap: interesting
<azonenberg> it seems to be a bit more responsive too
<whitequark> cyrozap: uhm
<whitequark> are you aware of my leaflet stuf
<cyrozap> whitequark: I just adapted what was on Siliconpr0n to use Leaflet using the pre-rendered tiles.
<whitequark> okay
<cyrozap> azonenberg: I didn't notice any difference on my machine--I just like to encourage people to replace Google Maps with more FOSS alternatives
<cyrozap> (and also I recently found out about Leaflet and wanted an excuse to play around with it)
<whitequark> leaflet is pretty sweet

<whitequark> I'm busy for next 12h, then starting the prototype!
<whitequark> hm, suggested name change: v2pcb -> pcbhdl
<whitequark> since it won't really involve verilog
<whitequark> not as a prototype anyway

<pointfree> cyrozap, whitequark: now if there were some way to add a register mapor something + leaflet-search to that http://labs.easyblog.it/maps/leaflet-search/ without too much tedium...
<pointfree> I worked a lot on leaflet-search at an internship in college.
<pointfree> map or*
<pointfree> Looks like leaflet-search can now search vector features: http://labs.easyblog.it/maps/leaflet-search/examples/geojson-layer.html

<azonenberg> as in, next-gen pcb design
