*I* won't even be affected that much by a Trump presidency (aside from health insurance bullshit which is well, always bullshit). But my Timeline is legit 90% people fearing for their lives that, e.g. a VP that advocates gay-conversion therapy (spoiler: doesn't work) is going to be put into office.

Anybody wondering how Germans felt in 1933 or thereabouts?

<rqou>
google says republicans have the house
<balrog>
rqou: that's been pretty much a given for the house, mainly due to gerrymandering in 2010
<cr1901_modern>
I'm done being charitable toward the GOP. From now on, I assume the worst.

normally i wouldn't express my own political views on a channel like this, but i'm concerned
<azonenberg>
rqou: yeah i think it's over
<rqou>
a trump presidency is going to be a disaster
<rqou>
and you can't even move to Canada because their immigration website is down
<rqou>
wow, republican president, house, and senate
<rqou>
<insert "don't want to live on this planet" image here>
<azonenberg>
rqou: makes all of those guys buying old ICBM bunkers seem a lot less crazy, eh?
<rqou>
i thought those were the ones that were likely to vote for trump?
<rvense>
i think there's going to be a big market for prepper books translated into progressivist idiom
<rqou>
anyways, i noticed that ##openfpga, #kicad, and Overwatch (the FPS vidya) were all discussing the election
<rqou>
so nobody's getting any work done it seems :P
<azonenberg>
i made a bit of progress on my build system

but... yeah
<rqou>
as a consolation CA is probably going to legalize marijuana :P
<rqou>
although being in berkeley you would never have noticed it was illegal to start :P
<rqou>
CA's prop 62 (repeal death penalty) is also losing
<nats`>
guys there is something worse int hat problem
<nats`>
trump will do nothing because it's politic
<nats`>
but he's the symbol of anti intellectual trend
<nats`>
saying that scientist and expert know nothing because they don't live in the same "world"
<nats`>
on a long term this kind of thought scheme is way more dangerous
<nats`>
one good example is climate change, we can agree or disagree but with good argument and real scientific fact and measure
<nats`>
but him he's the kind of guy saying 'no climate change because this morning it rained !"
<nats`>
more and more people are like that
<nats`>
that's worrying me
<rqou>
the alt-right and populist ideas worry me more than anti-intellectualism
<nats`>
anti intellectualism is way worse, it's a trends that will totally destroy education etc
<nats`>
populist idea are linked to the economical situation

well, if you're lucky over there than Apple simply passes on the 35% import prohibition tax to the US customers. But I think they simply will stop sales

I am having trouble finding details on the shutdown sequence of the spartan 6 series. I am able to program a spartan 6 using the 'shutdown sequence' of the spartan 3/E (It even looks like it works without manually running instructions to clear the CRC). But I would prefer to know the shutdown sequence of the 6.

diamondman: why not just assert PROG_B?
<azonenberg_work>
or a jtag JPROG?
tecepe has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<nats`>
IIRC there are no shutdown sequence
<nats`>
when you assert prog B it reset all the LUT and will retry to flash when release
<nats`>
but there are no powering sequence
<azonenberg_work>
Yeah
<azonenberg_work>
there is a power-down pin you can use i think
<nats`>
there are startup power sequence when you use external spi rom
<azonenberg_work>
but nothing you can do via selectmap/jtag
