<fredl_> 'morning folks
<fredl_> I'm trying to recompile u-boot 2018.03 on another system than my laptop today but seem to be missing a package causing the make to complain:
<fredl_> PYMOD scripts/dtc/pylibfdt/_libfdt.so
<fredl_> # include <Python.h>
<fredl_> scripts/dtc/pylibfdt/libfdt_wrap.c:149:21: fatal error: Python.h: No such file or directory
<fredl_> And I can't for the life figure out what package I installed on my laptop for that, any clue on top of your head?
<montjoie> you miss python-dev
<fredl_> ah that's it.
<fredl_> Was looking for fdt packages or something, thanks montjoie
<montjoie> you could have checked Python.h on your precedent system and get the package owning it
<KotCzarny> apt-file search Python.h could shed a light
<shadeslayer> ^^
<fredl_> montjoie - I tried that actually using apt-file
<fredl_> And several packages own a Python.h it seems
<fredl_> Just didn't get the right one yet
<shadeslayer> it should be the one that is in /usr/include/Python-<ver>

<buZz> focus: change how? on a product you bought from allwinner?
<buZz> oh, on product you are designing
<f11f12> used for?
<buZz> 'something requiring 2GB of ram' :)
<f11f12> the banana pi m2 berry has 1Gb i think :-)
<buZz> 1gigabit? thats not a lot
<f11f12> byte,
<buZz> oh
<buZz> i've been messing around with a pdp8 emulator all weekend , i cant imagine ever running out of ram with anything over 32kb ;)

<buZz> uhuh

<willmore> JohnDoe_71Rus, LOL!
<focus> buZz: I had the option to program a real PDP11 :)
<f11f12> focus: one with frontpanel?
<focus> buZz: I used to program my first 6502 with DIP switches :) :)
<focus> f11f12: its just a memory now - i believe it had a monitor and keyboard
<f11f12> :-)
<focus> we moved on to time share on an ICL
<buZz> focus: cool :)
<focus> remember ICL anyone ?
<buZz> i'm getting the PiDP11 once its released aswell
<buZz> not really remembering for me, more digital archeology ;)
<f11f12> I feel really old now, thanks buZz
<buZz> aw :) dont be
<focus> I don't feel old at all - just infinitely more robust :)
<f11f12> My pdp will smash the V40 - if it falls on it.
<focus> f11f12: making a server focused R40 board - https://hellosemi.com/KiCAD_Server_Board.html
<focus> in KiCAD / open sourced
<focus> Another version of it (if not the same version) will have a STDuino bolted on to control the pre-boot and post-boot environment so that it can go into a server array
<KotCzarny> std uino sounds pun-able
<focus> you can then talk to the stduino (similar to Arduino but made with cheapie ST chips) and reboot crashed server remotely
<focus> KotCzarny: then Ard uino i guess is some thing you catch up your as*? :)
<KotCzarny> The definition of ARD is "Alright"
<KotCzarny> according to google
<KotCzarny> :)
<KotCzarny> Originated in Philadelphia, slang for "affirmative", or "alright"
<willmore> What is an STduino?
<focus> Same as Arduino but made with ST chips
<focus> Arduino made with the now defunct Atmel chips (Atmel is now owned by Microchip)
<focus> The Ardnuino IDE supports ARM Cortex ST chips now - so you can compile arduino code and run it on ST chips
<focus> I got the Arduino IDE working on ARM SoC R40 :) :) - ever so pleased and smug over that one :) :)
<willmore> I use blue pill boards all the time. Are these STM32 or STM8?
<focus> The one I made is my own - STM32F103C8T6 based
<willmore> Okay, so same as blue pill
<focus> yes
<willmore> Want to design a board for me? ;)
<focus> Its tricky if you don't use the same xtal as blue pill - the whole thing craps out if using a different xtal
<focus> yes pleahhahahahahahseee!!!
<willmore> Yeah, the USB and stuff are pretty tied to the xtal freq
<willmore> :P
<JohnDoe_71Rus> even old 1,5
<focus> willmore: whatcha want designed?
<willmore> focus, take a blue pill board and rearrange things so that all the I/O is in one 0.1" double row along one long edge.
<focus> yes easy
<willmore> Then you can easily put two right angle SIP headers on it and plug it into the middle row of a breadboard and not block all the other holes.
<icenowy[m]> wens: I found some weird problem of SY8106A -- the pre-set voltage cannot be accessed
<willmore> Step two, get all the places making blue pills to make this version instead.
<icenowy[m]> the reset value of VOUT1_SEL is 0x0, which means 0.68V & I2C regulation disabled
<willmore> brb
<icenowy[m]> as I2C regulation gets disabled the real voltage is decided by the external resister like a fixed regulator
<KotCzarny> icenowy, maybe it has special meaning?
<icenowy[m]> (set the MSB of VOUT1_SEL enables I2C regulation

<focus> Eclipse IDE with gcc :)
<focus> (unbelievable!)

<hitech95> Hi guys, someone here? I have a couple of questions about the sunxi audio codeca nd the AIF/digital interfaces.
<vagrantc> just ask the questions and wait patiently
IgorPec has joined #linux-sunxi
yann|work has joined #linux-sunxi
<hitech95> I'm designing a A33 board but i would know how is multiplexed the digital interface with the analog codec. I have read the datasheeet and slso some drivers but is not clear. Is the digital interface indipendert from the analog codec? IS the analog codec connected to the same i2s lines of the digital interface? The a33 have AIF1/2/3 but on analog codec i can found only ref to aif1 and aif2 so aif3 is indipendent?
<hitech95> What i'm interested in: ANALOG playbac via the codec or via an external codec. Recording via internal codec. I also have a bluetooth module hooked on aif3 for bluetooth stuff and FM radio.

<hitech95> Another question is: There is support for uboot nand boot for A33? I have found refers for other chips but not the one i'm using
<shadeslayer> jernej: heh we got stuck, weston-simple-egl seems to fail
<shadeslayer> which is the smallest test case we found for a larger issue
montjoie has quit [Quit: leaving]
<jernej> shadeslayer: if there is some issue in DRM driver I can probably help, however, I don't know much EGL, GLES, etc...
<shadeslayer> jernej: I really don't know, I'm looking at IRC logs and someone else has the same issues
<jernej> shadeslayer: regarding mali400/450 driver: always match kernel and userspace version
<jernej> I think that is probable reason
<shadeslayer> it is
<jernej> also, mali sometimes prints error messages when it fails on stdout
<jernej> try to capture it
afaerber has quit [Quit: Leaving]
<shadeslayer> jernej: ever seen the pinebook come up with a white screen btw?
<jernej> not really, but I didn't work with pinebook much
<shadeslayer> ok
<jernej> now I reconsidering it due to your work (I like KDE very much)
<shadeslayer> :D
<bshah> if I understand the IRC log and other community posts, it mentions that libmali blob can either support gbm or wayland-egl (one used by compositor and other being for clients..) am I wrong?
<jernej> bshah: usually same blob supports both interfaces at the same time when it comes to wayland and gbm
<bshah> okay
