as it was pretty much in the night when i asked my question: it seems, compared to the Raspberry-Pi e.g., that the SPI clock polarity on the H3 (by default) is inverted (default-high). according to the kernel docs, there's the 'spi-cpol'-flag, however that doesn't have any effect on my signal. can the spi clock polarity be changed at all or is it a HW-limitation?

apparently on the H3 a SPI transer is prefixed with SCK being set to HIGH shortly before the actual transmission. the raspberry e.g. doesn't do it. here's a screenshot showing the same transmission from an orange-pi and a raspberry-pi-2b: https://foo.nanl.de/spi_raspi_opi.png
<mirko>
can i somehow get rid of SCK being pulled to HIGH or is that done in HW?
<mirko>
i know that according to the SPI spec both transmissions are exactly the same - however my device obviously isn't compliant :/
