<terra854> So what features and drivers for A64 made it to 4.10?
<terra854> And what is still left before full A64 support in mainline?

<likewise> did anyone try CHIP's recent kernel on non-CHIP A13 hardware?

<terra854> Happy new year everyone! 🎉🎊🎆🎇🌠🌟💫⭐✨💥😃👐🤗
<likewise> HNY!
<KotCzarny> happy periodic circling of the sun
<willmore> Yay, arbitrary time period day!
<deskwizard> lol happy new year
<likewise> enjoy the leap second for those who haven't enjoyed 23:59:60 yet :)
<KotCzarny> :)
<MoeIcenowy> oh https://github.com/tinalinux/brandy/blob/r40-v1.y/SUNXI_README is a official confirmation of SoC <-> ID table
<MoeIcenowy> which says a B100 as sun8iw10p1
<KotCzarny> what is it?
<KotCzarny> also, what is sun8iw9p1 ?
<MoeIcenowy> and confirms V40 to be sun8iw11p1, same as R40
<MoeIcenowy> for sun8iw9p1, it's ---
<KotCzarny> and this confirms r40 == a20e

<KotCzarny> erm, wrong paste
<KotCzarny> bool "Allwinner Axx SOCs(sun8iw9)"
<KotCzarny> some tablet soc maybe

<tkaiser> Or maybe something orphaned and not worth a thought. Allwinner rearranged business units and new BU5 is now responsible for 'R series'. So something known as A20E in the past became now R40 and moved from BU2 (tablets/VR) to 5.

<KotCzarny> they dont orphan things, they reiterate, mix and match, and release as a new soc
<MoeIcenowy> but H3 and V3s is really new SoCs
<MoeIcenowy> (sun8iw7 and sun8iw8
<MoeIcenowy> oh seems that only I in this channel has V3s
<tkaiser> BTW: Since we only have ver 0.1 if R40 user manual I asked for a new version: https://github.com/tinalinux/linux-3.10/issues/1

<olerem> hallo all, i work on upstreaming of openocd config for a20. https://github.com/olerem/openocd/commit/223365e6ab9fdbc1f4bcaaa19967dc0841b7ac15
<olerem> comments and test are wellcome
<olerem> please, can some one correct me. If i see it correctly, BROM on A20 will try to enable SD0 port and check for SD card on it. If it fails, it may configure it as JTAG.
<olerem> i didn't tested my assumption jet
<olerem> need to get sd sniffer first
<beeble> at least on the other chips it will go to FEL after sd card
<beeble> and for jtag you have to remux the pins yourself
<olerem> beeble: BROM doing some automatix muxing
<olerem> no need for manual remuxing
<beeble> don't have a A20 so can't really confirm or deny. but on A31 i remember that it will not enable jtag if you are not doing it yourself. but can be different on the a20 and i don't have a a20 brom disassembly available
Axl_ has quit [Ping timeout: 268 seconds]
<beeble> but you could check it quite easy. boot to fel and check the port mux register
<olerem> beeble: ok, i'll try it
<olerem> here is one of BROMs which will enable JTAG in some cases https://github.com/hno/Allwinner-Info/blob/master/BROM/ffff4000.s#L906

<beeble> olerem: at least on newer chips i would expect a check of the fuse bits if jtag is allowed. otherwise the lockdown would have a big backdoor
<olerem> yes

<NiteHawk> i think we had/have jtag code in https://github.com/linux-sunxi/sunxi-tools - check out jtag-sel.c / .S - not sure what SoCs that will work on
<NiteHawk> preferably cross-check with the relevant datasheet / user manual
