<willmore> philectro__, yeah, the ODROID boards are made by a company that doesn't rely on a community to do all of the software support. That has good and bad points. The amlogic community is more user focused while the linux-sunxi community is more development focused.
<willmore> If you want an SBC server type board, look at the ODROID XU4.
<willmore> But, like was already said, don't confuse these with real server grade hardware.

<KotCzarny> offtopic, anyone got a clue what fivm.ko does?
<silviop> hojnikb: we are talking about zram!!
<jelle> KotCzarny: modinfo doesn't help?
<silviop> and swap in zram is very good idea
<silviop> on multicorecpu
<hojnikb> only to a certain point
<KotCzarny> description: Sunxi file integrity verify module for system
<jelle> doesn't give me any info what it might be
<KotCzarny> something smelly, oh well, gonna throw it away and see
<wens> mripard: seems unlikely given it doesn't have a dedicated regulator for signaling
<codekipper_> mripard: Hi, would you accept a patch that hasn't been properly verified but looks to work?.
<codekipper_> I've patched spdif for the h3 but can't access the pin to confirm playback.
<codekipper_> Registers look ok and so does duration of playback.
hojnikb has quit [Quit: Page closed]
<mripard> wens: ah, right
<mripard> codekipper_: no, I want someone to test it first
<mripard> and if there's no board where you can test it, no one will really miss it either :)
<jonkerj> codekipper_: I might jump in for that
<jonkerj> my orange pi pc looks like it has the spdif pin on the CSI, and I bought a CSI breakout for that
<KotCzarny> hmm, looks like that fivm thing is a reiteration of getroot
<mripard> codekipper_: speaking of SPDIF, any news on the channels inversion ?
<jonkerj> and I got a toslink RX, specifically for this
<jonkerj> err, TX
nOOb__ has quit [Ping timeout: 250 seconds]
<wens> reminds me, i still haven't tested SPDIF on the sina31s
<codekipper_> jonkerj: on my orange pi 2 it goes to the csi power regulator
<jonkerj> yeah, on PC it's different
<codekipper_> I was hoping to test it on my pine64 but no dma yet
<jonkerj> on my plus it's the same as you say
<jonkerj> maybe I'm confused, but isn't SP/DIF the same as "I2S"?
<codekipper_> I could have a go at soldering something on...
<codekipper_> not in this case...
<codekipper_> I do have i2s patches but they're still not verified
<jonkerj> ah you're the i2s guy
<wens> jonkerj: i2s is a different protocol
<codekipper_> but on the orange blah h3 boards they should be available on the header
<jonkerj> not on my -pc and -plus

<tuxillo> are there any cheap acrylic cases for the pine64 that leave both the euler and the pi2 bus accessible?
<KotCzarny> get the grinder and make it
<tuxillo> $20 is cheap? :)
<NiteHawk> if your goal is cheap, stylish and useful - my guess would be you get at most 2 out of those 3 :P
<KotCzarny> cardboard is cheap :P
<KotCzarny> and easy to work with
<KotCzarny> ;)
<miasma> it's always easy to drill more holes :)
<NiteHawk> out of curiosity: tuxillo, what's the cheapest acrylic case you have found for the pine64 so far?
<jelle> KotCzarny: lego!
<KotCzarny> lego is expensive :P
<KotCzarny> but yeah, even easier than cardboard
<scelestic> i usually reuse an old power supply as case
<tuxillo> NiteHawk: none cheap :
<KotCzarny> i have reused metal candy box and generic plastic box
<scelestic> not the nicest but has a fan as well in case you need it
<tuxillo> :D
<KotCzarny> what do you need fan for?
<scelestic> my sheevaplug ran fairly warm

<KotCzarny> hrm, uboot master doesnt build, also tries to set -march=armv5 when building opipc defconfig
<KotCzarny> do i have to use crosscompiler to build it or native gcc should suffice?
<scelestic> if you dont compile on the device you'll need to cross compile
<KotCzarny> shucks.
<KotCzarny> i wonder if i can simply use tools from android tree

<jernej> but I suspect that quiet some work will be needed for TV out support
<jernej> because it doesn't make sense to duplicate code
<MoeIcenowy> I think you have already duplicated some code, right? ;-)
<jernej> yes, boiler plate and tcon
