<plaes> anyone available who has ability to edit "Device Page example" in wiki?
<plaes> could you make the change in infobox that would link the "Touchscreen" row to its wiki page
<plaes> hrm.. it doesn't seem to be possible, though...

* plaes has finished improvement spree to touchscreen controllers in wiki for now.. any complaints?
<rz2k> wens: guys around there interested in arm-netbooks asked lkcl when arm-netbook mailing list became eoma68 mailing list after lkcl banned aaron from kde for "not contributing to project"
<rz2k> it is just so marvelous shit show that I'm going to watch it to the finale.
<rz2k> this is even better than nodejs section on stackoverflow.
<plaes> haha
<wens> I suppose there are off and on flame wars in nodejs section? :p
<rm> the flamewar was even posted on Phoronix
<rz2k> wens: example of typical nodejs on SO https://twitter.com/warrenhenning/status/439535250285154304
<rm> that way I saw it too, as for the arm-netbook itself I have unsubscribed many months ago

<mnemoc> plaes: for wiki things talk with libv
<libv> hrm
<libv> plaes: what for?
<libv> plaes: or, with a different connotation: how would this be used?
<plaes> I though it would be cool for listing drivers
<plaes> So you could list all the touchscreen drivers etc
<libv> you could do the same with categories
<nove> what to do with new socs? if linux-sunxi wants to be sunxi, it can't just ignore some only because there isn't a friendly development board.
<libv> nove: i know, but sadly, a23 isn't getting far with only wens working on it
<plaes> libv: yeah, I know about that
<nove> some weeks ago i saw in aliexpress seller with a23 tablet boards for 20€
<libv> plaes: something that takes some of the hassle out of our current infobox (and some minor restructuring of the infobox) is imho what we need
<libv> plaes: i currently think a single page for each of wifi, ethernet, bluetooth, touchscreen and accelerometer drivers is enough, unless a given driver requires a lot of info (like gsl1680)
<libv> in that light, i am not too certain yet what this template would give us
<libv> nove: what stops you?
<nove> maybe we could try to convince allwinner to help in this, by explain the trouble in getting the hardware, like happened here buying a tablet expecting a23, and was a13
<libv> nove: also, wens should write up a bit of wiki info on how to use the a23 sdk kernel
<libv> nove: allwinner is not too helpful atm
<libv> i still need to go bang on the table on that one
<nove> is not selling any more
<libv> and i expected an a13, and got a23
<libv> what is not selling anymore? a23?
<nove> and the fear of getting, get like for example a rockchip
<plaes> libv: I just wanted to play around with that 'navbox' thingy, to see whether anything good would happen..
<libv> plaes: imho, just go ahead
<libv> if it does something useful over what we have already, we should use it
<libv> but i am not convinced yet, but perhaps a good example will help
<libv> plaes: i did not like the ==== ==== to * change btw
<libv> you cannot create a link to a bulletpoint
<libv> and while it works in this case, due to the separate gsl1680 page, it breaks consistency
<libv> i admit, it is easier on the eye with the bulletpoint, but it loses functionality
<plaes> yeah, I have to admit I couldn't find a "nice" way to do that..
<nove> allwinner could arrange some tablets boards, give then to cubietech to solder uart wires and do the shipment to us
<mnemoc> what about a template doing an html anchor?
<nove> but yes, for that needs to be will to do so
<plaes> nove: is there one?
<mnemoc> <a name="mybullet"></a>
<plaes> ah.. indeed :)
<libv> mnemoc: i also like the navigation box at the top
<mnemoc> that way it can be linked without been a title
<mnemoc> libv: ok :)
<libv> so we really want a header which just is formatter differently
<libv> then fixing the formatting first, and then functionality on top later, that just seems wrong :)
<nove> plaes: i think there would be no problem about getting some sample boards from its costumers(tablet makers)
<libv> imho it isn't too impossible with ====
<libv> nove: that's going to be harder than dealing with allwinner itself
<mnemoc> h4 {.....} in the theme
<libv> allwinner has been witnessed to care at some points already
<libv> device makers will never care at all, apart from one or two, overall.
<libv> who might not ship that newer chipset you are hoping for
<libv> those one or two being cubietech and olimex in our case
<nove> libv: the idea was for allwinner herself get the boards from the tablet makers
<plaes> funnily the only one who seems to care a bit lately is nvidia :P
<libv> nove: hasn't worked for oliv3r and his promised a23 tablet
<shineworld> sunxi display drivers support brightness control over pwn or is only a matrix way on LUT ?
<libv> shineworld: they should, but it probably is broken in your case, or the fex is not filled in correctly
<shineworld> I'm using openbox... 4.0.4 with kernel lichee 3.0.59+
<libv> lichee?
<libv> why are you even here?
<shineworld> there are changes in linux-sunxi port about display drivers ?)
<mnemoc> *cough*
<shineworld> sorry....
<shineworld> is an old project... never tried to use directly sunxi kernel 3.0 instead of default lichee 3.0
<shineworld> however pwn works (10Khz at 50%) but was not able to understand how to control bright (backlight) ... if bright and backlight (duty cycle) are in some way linked...
<nove> but maybe careful explaining that if that was done for A23, the announcement of A33 could also have said supports gnu/linux, instead of only android
<nove> and that would only cost around 10 boards
<shineworld> probably brightness and backlight control aren't same thing and I need to add a new parameter on android setup display dialog
<shineworld> de_be.c is so strange peace of code.... sigh
atsampson has quit [Ping timeout: 252 seconds]
<shineworld> ok I'm looking differences on driver/video/sunxi/disp between lichee 3.0 and sunxi-3.4...
<shineworld> on de_be.c there aren't so much
<shineworld> but, by your experience, there is some correlation between bright and backlight control ?
<shineworld> I wasn't able to find if there is on of how is possible to control backlight

<libv> shineworld: pwm is next on my list of todos for my kms driver
<libv> basic fex based display mode setting is done, but the powering on/off, etc, and then pwm is up next
<libv> basic mode stuff was done at easter, when i was stuck on the train for a few h

<shineworld> I don't know a lot of this system, unfortunately. I've saw in script.fex the settings to enable pwm management for backlight and thought was only necessary to configure these. I made that and checked with oscilloscope the right behavior of digital output. Connected to my LVDS display the dimming of 50% worked but now I need to understand how to dynamically control it (change the dutycycle) in my context, Android OS.
<shineworld> In silly way I though that brightness is in someway linked on pwm dutycycle value if enabled in script but this isn't.
<shineworld> at least looking in BE_DE_Set_Enhance called but ioctl(DISP_CMD_SET_BRIGHT)

<syeekick> for my cubietruck
<rm> ...what
<rm> syeekick, OF COURSE you can use Debian's official armhf repos
<syeekick> is this the right location?
<syeekick> rm
<rm> right for what? to download an armhf package of "apt-cacher-ng", yes
<syeekick> echo ftp.uk.debian.org/debian >> /etc/apt/sources.list
<syeekick> then i'll have access to alot more packages
<syeekick> adding repos in debian never went well for me
<rm> not exactly as you mentioned
<rm> it's more than just the URL
<syeekick> rm would it be too much to ask for the correct syntax and which repo i should use ffrom here https://packages.debian.org/search?arch=armhf&keywords=apt
<rm> echo "deb http://ftp.uk.debian.org/debian wheezy main" >> /etc/apt/sources.list
<rm> also check what's your contents of /etc/apt/sources.list currently
<rm> maybe you already have all the repos added, and the problem is something else
<syeekick> root@cubie:/etc/default# cat /etc/apt/sources.list
<syeekick> deb http://ftp.es.debian.org/debian stable main contrib non-free

<syeekick> deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ wheezy-updates main contrib non-free
