FR^2, x-server works nicely, today some drivers are still closed, most are at least partially opened but you should choose between them depending on what you want, as far I know

don't like too much this blog, but the author tried to gather most drivers state

the open source mali driver from arm, only manage some 3d, and ssvb make the proof that there was large optimisation possible (something like10* in 2D, 3* in 3D), don't know if it's improvement in the releases now
