<DocScrutinizer05> PT331C: fast phototransistor, rise time 15µs, fall time 15µs. Depending on rise/fall-time definition (10/90?) this might mean it works "fine" even up to 60kHz (maybe 30% of maximum amplitude)
<DocScrutinizer05> then otoh phottransistor also means "active power supply" (via 100R load here)
<DocScrutinizer05> while a photodiode creates own voltage that can pull up a pulldown GPIO input and doesn't need any power supply otherwise
<DocScrutinizer05> (I know we don't want a 5mm dia standard package)
* DocScrutinizer05 hates going shopping when fever. Also hates weekend without milk for coffee though... *sigh*
<misv> DocScrutinizer05: watching CCC ?
<DocScrutinizer05> no, feeling sick and waiting till the videos get available on youtube or whatever
<DocScrutinizer05> actually I doubt the topic this year has many news for me
<DocScrutinizer05> better to wait until the talks been done and got commented on, then cherrypick
<DocScrutinizer05> hey! I: "I ordered a normal tea. This is peppermint tea" -- Waitress: "well, it has to have *some* flavor anyway"
<DocScrutinizer05> what would you expect to get served when you order a "tea with Rum" ?
<kerio> tea flavor
<DocScrutinizer05> obviously "peppermint" _is_ one of the possible tea flavors for that girl
<misv> :D
<DocScrutinizer05> http://www.das-willich.de/drinks-heissgetraenke.php annoying: I gave 20ct tip when I paid before I even had a taste

<DocScrutinizer05> good I got a plan B :-)
<bencoh> for tea ?
<kerio> the birth control?
<DocScrutinizer05> for tea. And alternative to Rum :-)
<bencoh> :]
<DocScrutinizer05> http://maemo.cloud-7.de/share-service/20141227_001.mp4 :-) nice what the "math" functions in Rigol can do
<kerio> stop playing with the oscilloscope!
<DocScrutinizer05> why? :-)
<kerio> what if it breaks
<DocScrutinizer05> how else would I learn how to set a trigger on first negative edge on chan1 after positive edge on ch2?
<kerio> from reading the manual!
<DocScrutinizer05> yeah, maybe that would be a possibility
<DocScrutinizer05> ;-P
<bencoh> :]

<DocScrutinizer05> http://wstaw.org/m/2014/12/27/rigol_trigger_on_pattern.bmp works too, though ;-) --- and btw: echo ':disp:data?' | netcat 192.168.4.52 5555 | dd bs=1M iflag=skip_bytes skip=11 of=/tmp/rigol_trigger_on_pattern.bmp

<kerio> what's in the first 11 bytes
<DocScrutinizer05> some proprietary header
<bencoh> hm
jonwil has joined #neo900
<kerio> so why are you blindly skipping 11 bytes
<DocScrutinizer05> because I know the header is constant anyway
<kerio> that's cheating
<DocScrutinizer05> ;-P
<kerio> reported
<DocScrutinizer05> sidenote: screen snapshot by above command takes ~3s when scope is "running" and ~1s when scope is "stopped"
* DocScrutinizer05 idly wonders what the snapshot picture will look like when display changes during those 3s
<DocScrutinizer05> dang, I just recall a workstation reboot is pending :-S
<DocScrutinizer05> honestly, reboot system just because of a silly kernel update. How pathetic ;->
<DocScrutinizer05> n8 folks, I think I should try to sleep away that flu
