<mnutt_>
I just tried out Panic's Transmit client on iOS for accessing Davros, it is a million times better than Owncloud iOS. Night and day. So I'm excited about the randomized hostnames so that other clients can connect.
<asheesh>
Wow. Awesome, mnutt_.
<asheesh>
mnutt_: I have no point, I just want to say: "Panic at the Disco!"
<mnutt_>
and it doesn't need any of the weird stuff owncloud does, just a user agent whitelist :)
<mnutt_>
(for now)
<asheesh>
mnutt_: Can people use this to xfer images in bulk off their phones?
<asheesh>
Someone I know is really interested in doing that on her iPhone and I'd like to plausibly suggest Sandstorm + Davros as a useful endpoint for her transfer.
<asheesh>
(I ask because I know very little about iOS.)
<asheesh>
Ooh, and/or she can "just" xfer to her laptop, which is cool.
<asheesh>
Ooh, also, "Apple added an extensible Document Picker, enabling Transmit to extend the open & save capabilities of other apps"
<asheesh>
That's fascinating.
<mnutt_>
I'd really like to figure out a way to automatically sync my iphone photos with Davros, but alas it looks like you can merely choose a bunch of photos and upload them
<asheesh>
Interesting, OK.
<mnutt_>
I set up a lychee album and spent about an hour editing titles and descriptions and such before realizing that I had accidentally created it under a demo account. it was pretty amazing that within 60 seconds I had downloaded the grain and re-uploaded it to my regular account and everything magically worked.
<asheesh>
(-:
<mnutt_>
If I ran a hosted service of some sort and a user filed a ticket asking how they could move something they created from one account to another, my first reaction would be a big sigh as I imagined all of the implications of having a user link accounts in some way or transfer ownership. With sandstorm it just works, and elegantly.
<asheesh>
Also too bad it took you so long to discover it was a demo account!
<asheesh>
AFK to play glTron apparently with paroneayea !
<mnutt_>
the word "demo" in the corner really should have given it away.

Do you already have Vagrant installed? FWIW I run the version of Vagrant from the Debian archive.
<asheesh>
What distro are you on?
<Brisr>
hmm yes I tried that already. I saw it in one of the threads
<Brisr>
ubuntu 14.4
<asheesh>
OK, cool. So then can you state exactly what you're typing and where you're seeing the error message? Perhaps with a screenshot if you can do that.
<asheesh>
vagrant-spk ties together a large number of layers, so I want to make sure I understand which layer is failing.
<Brisr>
Ah that deb seems to have made a difference vagrant-spk up now running and installing some stuff. Is that a good sign?
<Brisr>
before the deb install vagrant-spk up gave: There are errors in the configuration of this machine. Please fix
<Brisr>
the following errors and try again:
<Brisr>
vm:
<Brisr>
* The box 'sandstorm/debian-jessie64' could not be found.
<asheesh>
Interesting, OK!
<asheesh>
Maybe it has to do with the version of vagrant you are getting.
<Brisr>
however now (post deb install) it's downloading a bunch of stuff
<asheesh>
If you get to the point where you're re-packing the SPK file, you'll need to change app key etc. information. Ping me if you run into issues like that, Brisr.
<Brisr>
OK great. I've found a 403 nginx error, But I'm happy to just Google it & let you do something else :)
<asheesh>
Well feel free to ramble here; someone else might be interested in helping too!

<hannes3>
asheesh: yeah, i had closed it. why does it keep one open inthe sidebar and not the others though? i always have to go to the grain overview page to be able to open them again
<asheesh>
The theory is that you might have different sets of grains open in different browser tabs.
<asheesh>
We could try to jam the info about which grains are which into the URL, but we're sort of hesitant about that for some reason.
<hannes3>
i wanted to use this for some group collaboration and having the same "tabs" available easily over the sidebar would rule
<asheesh>
For now, there isn't a way to do that, but we hope to improve that eventually.
<hannes3>
dang
<hannes3>
thanks
<hannes3>
having a dashboard might be an analogy of what i had in mind
<hannes3>
instead of having a tab per grain i would have my sandstorm tab :)
<asheesh>
That is the idea! : D

hannes3: as for the "rocket chat asks for notification permission every time I open it" issue: that's something we're aware of, and have a kinda-design for: https://github.com/sandstorm-io/sandstorm/issues/919
<hannes3>
i see! i was just dumping out all my first impressions as "mental talk"
<Brisr>
meh got bored of the 403 error, so trying https://jitsi.org/ now..
<asheesh>
Brisr: Ah, cool. I can probably video-chat with you at some point to debug the 403, perhaps tomorrow daytime sometime.
<Brisr>
great thanks
<Brisr>
when is daytime for you?
<asheesh>
Current time is 11:47am ; I'm in America/Los_Angeles time zone
<asheesh>
I could probably also/alternatively chat about ~3h from now, if we are quick. Also if you can provide steps to reproduce, I might be able to do it without video chat!
<asheesh>
Will be randomly busy at random times today so today is hard to predict; tomorrow is easier to promise, but is farther away in time.
<Brisr>
I''ll try and document the steps and stick them in a pastebin here? Or email?

Hello sandcats! SPK Upload appears to be broken. (multiple peer disconnected's) after running `vagrant-spk upload`. Is there anyone on the sandstorm ops team that can assist and is here right now?
