do you have noise from you NN spk or headphones?
<Guest54638>
background noise, hiss,fissile that's noticeable when listening to music?
<Guest54638>
I find it more noticeable when using ear pieces than big headphones

do you hear background noise when listening to music?
<Web-aptosid876_>
on the nano note?
<Web-aptosid876_>
I'm desperate to know, if my NN is damaged or it's a design fault.
<wpwrak>
not sure if a lot of people are a) using the ben to listen to music AND b) are around
<wpwrak>
you may have better luck posting to the qi-hw mailing list

I wouldn't be surprised to find it's either a design flaw or a production defect where a filter/buffer capacitor got soldered in a defunct way
<DocScrutinizer05>
if it was the latter, it's at least easy to fix
<DocScrutinizer05>
sorry, I never seen a NN, so I can't help

I believe I have ask on the mailing list before and didn't get a response, or maybe i didn't, I forget. but thanks
<Web-aptosid876_>
the noise is a fizz which goes up and down a bit. any hints on how to find out if that is the case?
<Web-aptosid876_>
....if it is the case of replacing a capacitor
<Web-aptosid876_>
but I can try again on the mailing list...
<DocScrutinizer05>
might be interference between two clocks mixing their noise on VDD
<DocScrutinizer05>
VDD-analog should be properly filtered
<DocScrutinizer05>
as mentioned I have no NN and no schematics at hand
<DocScrutinizer05>
adding a huge plus small low ESR RF enabled buffer capacitor directly to the VDD-ana and VSS-ana-GND pins will for sure not hurt
<Web-aptosid876_>
so might it be worth me getting a new NN? (I'll hope to find a good use for the old one, so don't worry. or maybe sell it if some needs it)
<whitequark>
nah, unlikely that you have damaged it
<Web-aptosid876_>
my one was 2rd hand in the first place.
<whitequark>
and even if you did, it should be relatively easy to fix
<Web-aptosid876_>
well I did fry the charging IC. had to replace it :D
<Web-aptosid876_>
bloody surface mount ic's hehe :D
<whitequark>
a minute with a hot air gun and you're done
<Web-aptosid876_>
I was experimenting with alternative power supplys and opps
<Web-aptosid876_>
don't have a hot air gun.
<Web-aptosid876_>
I guess there is hacker spaces
<Web-aptosid876_>
but yea, I'll happily fix it if possible :D
<whitequark>
a hot air gun is cheaper than a new NN ;)
<whitequark>
especially if you buy it off craigslist
