I'd say every human not deaf should be able to hear the difference in sound when the pump gets blocked
porchaso0 has quit [Quit: Leaving...]
<DocScrutinizer05>
anyway objects in pump are most common problem of dishwashers. You can't imagine the way people treat their dishwashers. Like if they had no waste bin. peas and toothpicks are only the more non-exciting things to find in blocked pump

<DocScrutinizer05>
btw usually the water goes out easily when you simply lower the exhaust hose below the level of the inner tubing of the dish washer
<DocScrutinizer05>
I've seen people placing ther dishwasher on top of e.g. fridge, so the hose went strauight down direction kitchen sink. Then they wondered why no water stays in dishwasher, or rather "why doesn't it work?"
<DocScrutinizer05>
btw the pump's motor design is kinda funny, with just a AC magnet around a plastic tube with some magnetic rotor inside. Obviously it has no dedicated direction it will spin towards
<DocScrutinizer05>
suboptimal efficiency but ultra-simple design :-D
<DocScrutinizer05>
usually any problematic object shouldn't be able to pass the filter. So first of all check if the filter fits tightly without bypass where a toothpick or pear or chicken bone can pass through
<wpwrak>
rugged design :)
<wpwrak>
yeah, no idea how it got past
<DocScrutinizer05>
strings are nasty
<DocScrutinizer05>
or plastic foil stripes
<DocScrutinizer05>
they wrap around the "propeller" of the pump
<DocScrutinizer05>
btw absolutely same problem in many washing machines
<DocScrutinizer05>
just usually no toothpics but mostly coins that block the pump
<wpwrak>
hehe :)
<wpwrak>
so you worked in household appliances service for a while ? :)
<DocScrutinizer05>
honestly people not even removing coarse remnants from dishes before placing those dishes into dish washer makes me angry
<DocScrutinizer05>
wpwrak: I did almost all that is somehow related to electricity or technics at large
<wpwrak>
;-)
<DocScrutinizer05>
In TV I seen nerds preparing their salmon in a plastic bag inside the dish washer :-)
* DocScrutinizer05
idly wonders if changing POP port of MX would cause any problems
<DocScrutinizer05>
obviously I can't change SMTP port
<wpwrak>
zrafa: btw, how are the libswd experiments going ? have you been able to make contact ?

wpwrak: hehe.. many experiments.. all were bad news. But the good news is that we still continue trying :)
<zrafa>
wpwrak: we tested sie+ubb and libswd.
<zrafa>
wpwrak: against our little experimental board with mk20
<zrafa>
wpwrak: using the debug option in libswd we just GOT ACK 7 ... like if every answer from mcu are all 1s. (the 3 bits as ack it should send)
<zrafa>
wpwrak: your code sends the proper "code" to change "jtag to swd" in mk20. I read the 16 bits from manual reference
<zrafa>
of mk20
<zrafa>
to switch from jtag to swd
arielenter has joined #qi-hardware
<zrafa>
wpwrak: the good news are that kl26 is pin compatible with the mk20 we have. So we are making a new little test board with a mkl26, to try to test your software and verify that it works, then we can be sure that our board is okey at least. Then, after that (if that is succefull) to continue with mk20 and to try to understand why mcus is not working for us
<wpwrak>
ack 7 means that the chip doesn't even notice you're talking to it :(
<zrafa>
wpwrak: yeah :(
<wpwrak>
but good idea to try the kl26. eliminates possible "stupid" incompatibilities
<zrafa>
wpwrak: maybe the reset sequence is different. If I understand correctly is that we need to switch from jtag to swd in mk20. But in kl26 you just have swd right?
<wpwrak>
hmm, could be. but in any case i'm sending the switch sequence
<zrafa>
yes, I read it and it is okey for the mk20
<zrafa>
wpwrak: btw, which endian is this thing?
<whitequark>
wohoo, got galden back from post office
<whitequark>
whoever placed that office must be a huge jerk who likes to watch people suffer.
<wpwrak>
zrafa: little-endian
<wpwrak>
whitequark: how many wolves did you have to shoot ?
<whitequark>
hehe
<whitequark>
none, but I was a little uncomfortable in three busses with a package with the value clearly declared on the outside of it.
<whitequark>
hm, I seem to have hit some kind of delivery jackpot. another package incoming in an hour
<whitequark>
wpwrak: regarding that MDF-based, um, equipment from yesterday. it seems that retrofitting my CNC to use some other head except whatever it uses right now will be problematic
<whitequark>
it's too monolithically built for any replacement to work
<whitequark>
so I thought about building a platform with changeable heads for the cases where the frame must not withstand significant stress of cutting
<whitequark>
hopefully also much cheaper
<whitequark>
you'd need... MDF, ballscrews, rails, a few screws and that's it I think?
<whitequark>
(and then wpwrak asks me why do I want solder stop_)
<wpwrak>
whitequark: ball screws sound fancy
<whitequark>
wpwrak: hmm? what would you use for a CNC?
<wpwrak>
whitequark: well, it's just a fixed platfornm, isn't it ?
<whitequark>
what do you mean by 'fixed' ?
<whitequark>
rails are there for holding load. ballscrews are the linear actuators for moving it, one that have practically no backlash
<wpwrak>
so you'd replace the whole Z axis ? incl. stepper ?
<whitequark>
no, I mean I want to build an entirely another machine, with properly changeable heads but on much weaker (also cheaper/easier to work with) frame
pcercuei_ is now known as pcercuei
<whitequark>
plus I'd get to fail quite a bit more while doing that. failing is always fun
<wpwrak>
oh, i see :)
<whitequark>
the need to make a frame out of aluminium deters me. but mdf is definitely something I can handle now
<whitequark>
so that was a nice idea
<wpwrak>
yeah, mdf is easy
<wpwrak>
maybe also consider acrylic, especially if things can get wet
<whitequark>
hmm, maybe just cover mdf with urethane varnish?
<whitequark>
acrylic tends to fracture
<whitequark>
not to mention thick acrylic can get quite pricey
<wpwrak>
if you need that kind of strength, maybe buy an old tank, then strip it ?
<whitequark>
strength? no, not strength. I think it can be nontrivial to make holes in acrylic so that it doesn't shatter
<whitequark>
or do you mean thickness?
<wpwrak>
as long as you drill/mill them, that should be alright. if you insist on using a gun to make the holes, the story may be different, though
<whitequark>
no no, that would be DocScrutinizer05's specialty

<DocScrutinizer05>
using a gun for holes in acrylic is just a matter of caliber and bullet velocity
<DocScrutinizer05>
there's little a carefully crafted impact of a specially designed projectile can't do. even greate cups in alu blocks: 8mm steel ball projectile @ 28000m/s
<DocScrutinizer05>
or use explosives. I heard they can create nearly perfect little (~1mm or smaller) holes even in glass
<DocScrutinizer05>
;-P
<DocScrutinizer05>
though a projectile caliber of <0.5mm at *really* high velocity will work all the same
<DocScrutinizer05>
prolly use tungsten carbide for that one
<viric>
I didn't have any reason to think that gpg wouldn't work

whitequark: WUT? Russia and Krim call maidan demonstrants fascists and then invite Front Nationale and other oltra-conservative nationalist neofascist parties from whole Europe for referendum observers?
<DocScrutinizer05>
makes really a LOT of sense ¡ :-/
<DocScrutinizer05>
Putin is a zynical asshole, telling he's concerned about safety of Russian people in Ukraine and particularly Krim, then we see those Russian people beat up and kill pro-ukrainian demonstrants at Krim. And now this new idiocy of turning stuff into the diametral opposite with inviting fascist vote observers
<zrafa>
wpwrak: no luck with kl26 :(
<zrafa>
grrr
<zrafa>
wpwrak: what could be wrong?? :(
<zrafa>
wpwrak: we have connected 3.3V, GND, SWD_CLK SWD_IO and RESET
