<nicksydney>
wohoo! had a successfull day today programming the attiny13 board using arduino as the ISP...awesome!...feels like you are in a casino and the house let you win :)
<wpwrak>
there's probably a few very broad-shouldered fellows right outside the exit, waiting for you :)
<whitequark>
grmbl. the courier who should have delivered my endmills is late :(
<whitequark>
but on the bright side, the company who sells them says that if the courier is late, they'll compensate the delivery cost
arielenter has joined #qi-hardware
<larsc>
when he shows up he probably wants half of that compenstation
<whitequark>
I guess the company just pays the cost themselves
<whitequark>
they better do, for the amount they charge

hey wpwrak
<whitequark>
what did you use to make anelok and ybox case? what material? what cad/cam?
<roh>
i think wood and acryllic and 'his own' ;)
<whitequark>
yes, looks like the case
<whitequark>
'the case' hehe

<wpwrak>
yes, the cases are all regular acrylic, airbrush-painted in some cases.
<wpwrak>
cad/cam: fped and its friends from the qi-hw cae-tools repo :)
<wpwrak>
my standard interchange format is annotated gnuplot. at the end, i convert it to RML-1, which is what my mill consumes. i don't have any g-code eating devices, but it shouldn't be too hard to write a converter
<wpwrak>
the critters in cae-tools do things like simple coordinate transforms, offsetting, area fills, and so on
<whitequark>
annotated, sorry, what?
<whitequark>
*gnuplot* ?
<whitequark>
will you next release anelok firmware as base98 in EBCDIC-encoded man pages ?
<whitequark>
(converter) yeah, doesn't look like there is one
<wpwrak>
(annotated) i can put meta-data as "comments". though i don't really use that
<whitequark>
as you could guess I'm planning to make myself an anelok sometime in the future
<whitequark>
both as a useful device and something to learn on
<wpwrak>
gnuplot is a nice enough format. easy to parse, easy to generate, easy to view.
<wpwrak>
hehe :)
<whitequark>
I'm currently looking at 2-factor auth with yubikey as a solution
<whitequark>
but it only has two slots and needs USB so...
<whitequark>
(technically it also has NFC, and they reassure me that their NFC can't be read in an unauthorized way, but I don't trust that crap)
<wpwrak>
yeah, a bit limited. small and cheap, though. at least something:)
<whitequark>
yubikey? cheap?! $40 for a 1.5x1.5cm board?!
<whitequark>
apparently they use unicorn blood instead of epoxy
