<amstan>
do i see a more stable kde for minnie in the future? heh
<leming>
i saw that.. looks hopeful
<leming>
from an arm perspective, that would be awesome to see happen.. i've never actually cared much about what happens on my desktop

mmind00: yes but for example on archlinux with the chrome kernel if you don't kick the bluetooth with brcm_patchram_plus the wifi does not work... that's why I askes the question
<rperier>
if you need nothing to get the mainline driver working, that's cool
<rperier>

seriously... you don't ever imagine how the driver for epson s1d13u11 (framebuffer hw over usb) is a bullshit... if I code a driver myself... a fullscreen refresh (copy from virtual framebuffer in RAM to usb) takes ~250us... with epson driver.... 14ms !!! :D
<sjoerd>
that's surprisingly bad even for vendor code

Did anyone happen to try weston (with the software rendering backend) thusfar? seems to not even show the first frame
<sjoerd>
ok fb compositor backend works, so something not entirely right in the drm driver

sjoerd: feel free to send patches ;-)
<sjoerd>
for now i'll just always turn the regulator on :)
<sjoerd>
mmind00: that reminds me, for the patches for the rock2 device tree are you ok with one patch with the lot (as far as i got at that point) or do you prefer an intiail patch with minimal enablement and then patches per component ?
<mmind00>
sjoerd: I think one patch adding the som and baseboard should be enough
<sjoerd>
ok
<mmind00>
sjoerd: no need to split this into infinity :-) ... although you can probably also take your time, as stuff for 4.3 has most likely sailed anyway

indeed

wtf, if i twiddle SDIO0_PWR i get oopsed from the drm driver
* sjoerd
scratches head
<rperier>
I think that this driver was coded by an intern or a student... seriously :D
<rperier>
sjoerd: did you receive your board ? (you seem to work on the drm...)
<sjoerd>
rperier: yeah

<sjoerd>
rperier: having a go at the wifi now but it's being interesting
<rperier>
nice
<rperier>
did you change a lot of things ? (compared to the firefly )
<sjoerd>
i based it on the evb
<sjoerd>
but a lot of thigns are quire similar to the firefly
<rperier>
ok cool
<mmind00>
sjoerd: rperier: I'd guess it's not the fault of the drm driver
<mmind00>
playing with the mwifiex on jerry currently kills the keyboard
<sjoerd>
mmind00: yeah i assume there is some hardware interdependency that i'm missing
<rperier>
mmind00: what ? :D
<rperier>
whoo!
<sjoerd>
If i simply enable the default pinmuxing for sdio0_pwr (which just configures it as not-gpio with a pull-up) i do get some more output from the mmc1/sdio
<sjoerd>
mmind00: ooi just the keyboard or loosing the whole EC (/me assumes the rockchip once still have the keyboard behind the EC)
<mmind00>
sjoerd: yep and it was probably just the communication with the ec that got disturbed ... I got a lot of "p"s ... so I guess there was electrical interference when the wifi was sending ... after connection broke down, the ec was talking again
<sjoerd>
wow

sometimes, I don't compute how chromium developers did to have a working wifi with marvell chipsets...
