<bashintosh>
BTW the HPD pin trick you pointed out the other day worked ^^
<leming>
oh yeah.. gles output is buttery smooth
<amstan>
bashintosh: may i point you to djkurtz or marcheu in #chromium-os, they know a lot more about graphics than me
<amstan>
leming: nice
<bashintosh>
amstan: absolutely, will bug them a bit :)
<leming>
update to vlc soon in the repos with gles2 enabled
<leming>
new mali version is working fine too
<leming>
gles2 output doesn't fade out the mouse in fullscreen.. and can't do double-clicky fullscreen

<amstan>
leming: doesn't, what do you mean?
<leming>
mouse cursor stays visible.. doesn't disappear after some period of being idle
<leming>
you can install it all now and play around
<amstan>
oh.. whatever
<amstan>
netflix has always been like that after you switch to another episode
<amstan>
just move the cursor to the side
<amstan>
leming: any luck on chromium not crashing?
<leming>
not yet
<leming>
backtrace hasn't been much help.. don't really want to attempt a debug build
<amstan>
it takes 40 minutes to compile on my 40 core machine :(
<amstan>
leming: on vlc i get this really small video in the bottom right corner now
<amstan>
but hey.. at least it's egl supposedly, lol
cnxsoft has joined #linux-rockchip
<leming>
haven't seen any really small video thing
<leming>
i just changed the output in the preferences to gles, restart vlc, playing top gear like i'm on my desktop
<amstan>
leming: how big is your video?
<leming>
big in what way?
<amstan>
big buck bunny being 1080p gets cropped(top and right parts), and another movie i have which is 300 or so p gets a small movie in the bottom part area of vlc
<leming>
this one is 720p.. top and bottom slight cropping
<leming>
i can send over a 1080 movie
<amstan>
if you're testing on minnie you might not notice it then
<leming>
yeah, minnie
<amstan>
anyway, i don't expect you to fix it or anything, just sharing my sadness that it didn't just work perfectly
<leming>
what are you on?
<amstan>
minnie too
<leming>
maybe their gles rendering isn't quite there yet

amstan: haha ... although dbehr was nice enough to provide the special veyron x11 variant even before the "bet" :-)
<mmind00>
amstan: r26 seems to work btw. .. seemore.playcanvas.com still runs at nice 60fps ... and I've updated the mali-driver package

I started to work on the rock2 btw (I am still playing with sdio on my veyron, but I try to parallelize tasks), as fast as the firefly... but better designed, imho
<sjoerd>
rperier: which variant/baseboard do you have ooi
<rperier>
the square board
<rperier>
(not the full one)
<sjoerd>
cool, that one should be on its way here as well
<sjoerd>
2g memory variant

mmind00: correct me If am wrong, but we have the same gpio mapping "downstream kernel <--> upstream mainline kernel" for all SoCs ? which is A0-A7: 0-7 / B0-B7: 8-15 / C0-C7: 16-23 / D0-D7: 24-31
<mmind00>
rperier: yep ... 32pins per bank ... gpio-controllers label them 0-31 and the iomux has this a,b,c,d division
<rperier>
I prefer ask because the pinctrl driver is like the clk driver... not so trivial :D
<rperier>
ok thanks
