<edwin> lkcl: nice comparison table. are you using the quad-core i.MX6 in your table? according to this (http://hackerboards.com/3-5-inch-imx6-board-runs-linux-at-less-than-3-watts/) the dual core would use 2.3 W, and the quadcore (http://cache.freescale.com/files/32bit/doc/app_note/AN4509.pdf) uses 5.85W, but only under extreme conditions (3d graphics+dual video playback+all 4 cores loaded)
<edwin> are you consider i.MX6 for the "next" CPU card after the A20? (other than power usage it seems to win over A20 in your table)

<C-Keen> Hi! Just backed the EOMA68 crowdfunding with a card oder. I hope you'll succeed in building it, the idea is sound and something like this is long overdue!

<buZz> C-Keen: which card? :D
<buZz> the one with a gamble attached?
<C-Keen> the libre tea
<C-Keen> what gamble?
<buZz> the gamble that , if FSF denies certification, you get your money back

<buZz> > Respects Your Freedom (RYF) Certification from the Free Software Foundation (currently in progress with no known blockers - a full refund will be available if certification is for some reason not granted)
<C-Keen> Ah, I'd still want the card, just rename it then ;)
<buZz> ^^ gamble
<buZz> ?
<buZz> C-Keen: the certification is OFCOURSE not about the name
<buZz> lol
<buZz> :P
<C-Keen> A misunderstanding.
<buZz> <3
<C-Keen> I ordered the free certified one because I want to support that cause in general, but I won't do a refund if the application fails. Instead I'd prefer the other option which is the same HW AIU
<C-Keen> am I making sense to you?
<buZz> i doubt the card would be cancelled then
<buZz> just , uncertified :D
<buZz> i
<C-Keen> right
<C-Keen> but it's worth the try
<buZz> i'm gonna get that libre tea card aswell, and the microdesktop thingy
<C-Keen> same here
<C-Keen> I would buy a 11" laptop. the 15" are too large for me
<buZz> oh its 15"
<C-Keen> but I guess I still can get that kit later
<buZz> yeah i dont have such bad eyesight
<buZz> lol

<lkcl> edwin: the iMX6 really is a bit too power-hungry. 40nm quad-core, but the power management ICs take up a whopping 2/5ths of the available board space, and it's an 8 layer very very cramped PCB.

<lkcl> C-Keen: the Libre Tea's OS will still be Libre.
<lkcl> buZz: yyyyeah i reaaally wasn't happy that that had to be added (the refund offer) - this is a crowd-funding campaign: you don't offer refunds! if the Libre Tea cards were refunded (entirely) we could fall below the MOQ 250, which would mean *everybody* would need refunds
<buZz> oh its a FSF requirement?
<lkcl> ... but we can't get the RYF Certification until we have 2 samples provided to the FSF... where we need to use the available funds to *make* those production-quality samples....
<buZz> dangit
<buZz> lkcl: then you convinced me, i'll order the non-rebate version and just make my own tea
<lkcl> buZz: it's what josh gay asked to be added, and i happened to be away at the time. two samples is the "normal" way
<lkcl> buZz: the Libre Tea will _still_ go out with Parabola-ARM GNU/Linux-libre
<buZz> yeah but i dont wanna make your project less viable
<lkcl> buZz: honestly we don't feel it'll be a problem, because we have a "background backer" who is going to help out
<buZz> i'm mostly just happy to see you going towards production
<lkcl> buZz: it's confidential so i can't give details
<lkcl> me too man! :)
<buZz> although i'll be ordering at the end of your campaign
<buZz> (sorry)
<buZz> but i have a strict 4-preorders-max policy for myself, or i would just get ALL the things
<lkcl> buZz: haha no problem
<buZz> :)
<buZz> i heard some people saying they would order the laptop, if only the screen was smaller :)
<buZz> FYI ;)
