<hno> Gah... this NAND controller is not nice to me. Can read first sector of boot0 fine, but second sector is all garbage. randomizer out of sync I suppose.
<hno> Guess we have to give up usign CPU transfers and actually do DMA for this to work.

<brooc> I have to ask, why did you guys choose the Allwinner to develop for?
<brooc> How did you come to this ARM processor and not any other one?
<brooc> There are many other SoC based on the ARM why this one?

<techn> hey linux gurus.. how come module init goes forever loop if it returns error?
<ccssnet> hmm
<ccssnet> could you elaborate?
<techn> If module is defined in /etc/modules and it returns always error code.. it's tried to load n times
DogP has joined #arm-netbook
<ccssnet> hmmm
<ccssnet> that sounds like some bad logic for sure
<ccssnet> which OS you on?
<ccssnet> i dont think all linux os's have that poor logic in the init scripts
<DogP> I just rebuilt my kernel (Allwinner 3.0.52), and while most things seem to be working, when I try to load a module I get: could not insert <module name> operation not permitted. Any ideas?
<RaYmAn> check dmesg
<DogP> what should I be checking for?
<RaYmAn> errors :P
<DogP> there's nothing that jumps out at me... and it does load the 8192cu (wifi) module... but when I try to load a module (like the gt811_ts touchscreen module) with insmod or modprobe, I get the error

<Xlab> Hi folks. I've build UMP & xf86 libs to get acceleration in the X11, as described here http://linux-sunxi.org/Mali400
<Xlab> But getting strange error of missing symbols
<Xlab> "Initializing built-in extension DRI2
<Xlab> Loading extension GLX
<Xlab> X: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/mali_drv.so: undefined symbol: exaDriverAlloc"
<Xlab> X is 1.13.0. Anyone else have like that?
<Xlab> *something

<sv> Xlab,
<sv> i have a similar error
ibrah has joined #arm-netbook
<sv> but with another .so
<Xlab> opkg install xserver-xorg-module-exa
<Xlab> Weeee ^__^
<Xlab> Now it's googleable
mikey_w has joined #arm-netbook
<Xlab> Sv, with X11?
<sv> yeah
<sv> can't load dri2 module blabla
<sv> except it's with DRI2 MALI_DRI.so or something
<sv> libEGL warning: DRI2: failed to open Mali DRI2 (search paths /usr/lib/arm-linux-gnueabihf/dri:${ORIGIN}/dri:/usr/lib/dri)

<sv> this is in xorg.log
<sv> i have no idea how to fix it
<sv> i had the driver working for days, then it randomly broke
<Xlab> I heard everybody have that, can't be sure
<sv> weird
<sv> # es2gears
<sv> libEGL warning: DRI2: failed to authenticate
<sv> i also get this when running stuff now
<sv> and 17fps in es2gears vs 350+ with 3d acceleration when it works
<hno> brooc, not really here today.
<brooc> ok
<brooc> thanks
<hno> brooc, mail your SSH key to me henrik@henriknordstrom.net and I'll set it up for you.
<brooc> what encryption should I use?
<hno> no need to encrypt the public key.
<brooc> I used ssh-keygen
<brooc> It asked for a passphrase to use for the rsa
<mnemoc> the passphrase encrypts the private key, locally

<Michael___> Is there anyone that can help with a bad focaltech touchscreen after wrong firmware flash?
<Michael___> I already have tried to flash the eeprom from the touchscreen, but it fails on reading the ID :(
<Michael___> here is the dmesg that i've got when it tries to update the focaltech eeprom: http://pastie.org/private/15yzlrnf8sqry0nmkiqga
<Michael___> is there any fix?
<Michael___> someone from the Nook tablet (that uses the same touch IC) thread on the xda developers told me that the original kernel driver has a problem with the update procedure...
<Michael___> If someone can help please reply on my XDA developers thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1984007
<Michael___> thanks for any help you guys can give! :)
