i dont know where to start ;^)
<foggyb>
running windows
<foggyb>
i have the nandroid zip
<foggyb>
sgsII with cm9
<foggyb>
cwm recovery is installed
<peterperfect>
foggyb you want to restore the backup?
<foggyb>
no, i want to make a backup
<foggyb>
ok nandroid zip is on my sd
<foggyb>
should i extract to a folder?
<foggyb>
peterperfect:?
<_paco_1>
cwm, backup and restore, backup
<_paco_1>
thats it
<foggyb>
it has nandroid built in, or its own thing? Or nandroid is only for restoring?

its always good to have in case something goes wrong

i see the problem: it was too easy - that always trips me up
<foggyb>
bbqbot: derp bot?
<peterperfect>
yep, that simple
<peterperfect>
sometimes too easy things make us think that they cant be right

whats the default backup path?

is it a zip file?

wait

good question i dont remeber the default path

Speaking of that kernel, any idea how he got USB keyboard and mice working? I tried enabling a bunch of usb and input drivers in the kernel, but it didn't work. (Duh)
<foggyb>
well good thing my phone is not korean
<codeworkx>
that's probably not a korean problem
<peterperfect>
yep, you didnt get it
<codeworkx>
a) it's the mmc erase
<codeworkx>
b) it's cwm touch
<codeworkx>
foggyb: do 10 data wipes and then tell us if you phone is still alive
<peterperfect>
ahahahah
<foggyb>
i have not done any data wipes, so ymbr
<foggyb>
but still, it could be only korean s2's that suffer this
<EvilBelgian>
ymbr?
<davidism>
is cwm touch itself a problem, or just combined with that kernel?

hey...
<profkiwi>
I have one question?
<chadouming>
go
<profkiwi>
What do we use flashable modems for?
<bbqbot>
derp
<eurodata>
ok, just updated from a older to latest nightly of cm9, should I do a cache wipe etc, or just restart?
<Parth>
wipe cache
<Parth>
profkiwi: to update your modem. CM9 doesn't come with any modems
<profkiwi>
What are they used for?
<profkiwi>
Do I need one and what for?
<eurodata>
but I had an older version of cm9 worked fine that.
davidism has joined #teamhacksung-support
<chadouming>
well, the modem is in fact the software layer that take care of the radio. This software can be updated. Flashing a new modem update this. But as this is proprietary, Company releasing it doesnt tell us what's new so we can only believe that newer is better. But if your old modem still work, no need to flas a new one
<NeoPhyTe-x360>
profkiwi þ basically and resuming to get network signal of your provider
<NeoPhyTe-x360>
no modem no party
<chadouming>
lol, NeoPhyTe-x360 that's a real shortening of what i said xD
<NeoPhyTe-x360>
hahaha
<eurodata>
Parth: "wipe cache partion" only, then my phone remains as it was, it is only cache?
<profkiwi>
Thank you guys :) One more thing, is there flashable zip for fixed play store (DPI change) for CM9?
<Parth>
eurodata: yeah. it won't delete your stuff
<Parth>
profkiwi: no.
<profkiwi>
Is there any fix for that?
<eurodata>
Parth: thanks
<Parth>
yup
<Parth>
profkiwi: keep your default DPI
<profkiwi>
:( really? no other way?
<bbqbot>
derp
<Parth>
derp indeed.
<eurodata>
seems to boot fine, really nice with cm9, samsung is just rippng people off by getting them to buy newer phones, cm9 is very responsive on sgs1
<NeoPhyTe-x360>
profkiwi þ there is a paid app in playstore, that provides you updated patched playstore ang gfs
<NeoPhyTe-x360>
gsf
<profkiwi>
@NeoPhyTe-x360 Can I somehow apply AOPK zip file with fix for play store?

Parth: modem / radio etc, what should I have with cm9, where do I check it?
<Parth>
System Settings -> About
<Parth>
baseband version
<Parth>
XXLPS seems to work well with most people but if you aren't having issues with your current modem there is no reason to change
<eurodata>
no issues: xxjvt
<eurodata>
Parth: but I mean, what issues, is that about connectivity?, have ok reception, battery lasts about 24h+ with limited use
<Parth>
eurodata: I forgot. XXLPS is for SGSII, sory
<Parth>
sorry
<Parth>
SGSI is a whole different mess with modems. some support 850Mhz, other's done. Others support 850, but prefer 1900 first. big mess. Again if you don't have any problems, then don't change
<Parth>
don't*

hmm, the best modem i had on my SGS I if i remember well was JVP
<eurodata>
ok. have not been into other places than europe with this phone, works here, but could maybe have problems in the us
<eurodata>
but then I know what it is
<chadouming>
but this depend where you live, what's your carrier and a lot of factor
<chadouming>
and it makes about 1 1/2 year i havnt touch SGS I xD
<Jiangyi>
I miss my SGS I.....
<Jiangyi>
Some freaking robber just had to steal it from me.
<NeoPhyTe-x360>
fucking barcelona
<eurodata>
I think the new sgs2 and 3 is just to big. Think sgs1 is pretty perfect sized, ok screen, and works very good with ics
<NeoPhyTe-x360>
the best for signal i've tried XXKL1
<eurodata>
much better than with gb, very smooth operation
whitequark has left #teamhacksung-support [#teamhacksung-support]
<chadouming>
hmm, i believe that i like more my GNex than SGS I
<chadouming>
i love the big screen
<chadouming>
but i have big hand so it's pretty easy to run around it with one have
<chadouming>
even if reaching the top bar with one hand is pretty much a feat of strength

Hi... just a quick question... when I "build.sh galaxys2", the resulting rom filename is update-cm-9.0.0-RC0-galaxys2-UNOFFICIAL-signed.zip. How do I set the CM_NIGHTLY variable that is checked in the makefiles?
