ndufresne, thanks for reply. I would like to know what do you mean by "DRM is not used." Do you mean the DRM driver(panfrost/lima) is not actually used in HW decoding?
<sbbg>
Then, what other kernel option should I enable for HW decoding(DRMPlane used for Kodi), I wonder? I'm completely lost here, being sleepless for many nights.
<sbbg>
I try to merge libreELEC's kernel config and Armbian's kernel config and compile patched 5.5.6 kernel from LibreELEC. And also compile patched FFMPEG, Kodi altogether from LibreELEC into this PINEH64. Is there anything else missing?
<tuxd3v>
sbbg, what you are talking is about CEDRUS?
<tuxd3v>
shunshave, got it working..

Hi, I'm talking about the HW decoding, which is called DRMPrime, used in Kodi.
<sbbg>
https://linux-sunxi.org/Sunxi-Cedrus << It's mentioned here. But within 2 columns in "SOC support". So I'm not sure if it's same thing as Cedrus
<anarsoul>
sbbg: ask kodi devs?
<sbbg>
The 2 columns labeled "Cedrus Driver Status", "DRM Planes Status" in SOC support. But DRMPlane is mentioned in the article. So I'm not sure it's a part of Cedrus or it's different things.
<[TheBug]>
sbbg: what board are you trying to do this for?

ohh pineh64

sorry I missed that earlier

Hi, according to https://linux-sunxi.org/Sunxi-Cedrus , it said says "Decoding H.264/H.265 videos can require a large amount of CMA memory, so it is recommended to set a large CMA pool, e.g. using the cma kernel command line parameter. For instance, 256 MiB should be enough to decode 1080p H.264 videos: cma=256M."
<sbbg>
How should I pass this cma=256M parameter in Armbian? Is it supposed in /boot/armbianEnv.txt? or somewhere else?
