<apc> yeah my parents have helen's ashes
<apc> my grandma was there
<jamezz> where they say they never happen , and hurricane force winds , and we had tornado's
<apc> torandos are pretty much routine here
<jamezz> ya people make jewelery out of it.. the whole earth had it at 1 time
<jamezz> it went around the world
<jamezz> may 18th 1980
<jamezz> i remember it pretty vivid
<apc> I've loved it whenever I've been up there
<jamezz> because my dads friend was a sheriff and let us past the lines
<jamezz> and there was so much dust we got in a wreck
<apc> the air and the mountains. so awesome
<jamezz> thank god
<jamezz> because we were going down a hill , and my dad not T boned a car... ida died at 2 years old and 8 days
<apc> my uncle took us up as far as they'd let us once. this would've been mid-late 80s

<mrtrousers> what do you see with that adress in the neural network? RzMbYEqsn3GtSE7aURVCvvUooVtWbswGgy
<apc> without knowing more about how it works, I'd say that it is technically possible to calculate a user's expected por based on their mag, and from that identify from the blockchain the potential matches
<mrtrousers> blockexplorer doesent give much
<jamezz> well , the CPID is linked in NN to a wallet address for payment
<mrtrousers> Ok so you have to be anonymous in boinc..
<mrtrousers> pseudo anonimity is important.. lol

<mrtrousers> maybe it could be an option a non staking adress or something..

<pine_cone> my magnitude is only 30
<apc> I mostly see my staking amount jump up when I have a por reward processing
<pine_cone> so I dont know ...
<FreshFund> mines 30 sometimes 35
<pine_cone> I irregularly get POR
<pine_cone> ah thats cool
<FreshFund> acutally thats true apc: i get a por reward then ill stake maybe 5% of my balance for a bit, but never got a pos reward

<apc> !timetostake
<fediverse> This command '!timetostake <coins>' returns - as private message to you (to be done soon) - the EstimatedDaysUntilStake, which is: (1/(YourGridcoinAmount/NetworkCoinSupply))/960

<mrtrousers> Is an investor wallet more anonymous then? Because they dont boinc?
<mrtrousers> Assuming they hide their ip through vpn?
<apc> depending on how motivated and resourceful the investigator is, I would assume so
<mrtrousers> So.. DO we have some gridcoin stuff on the .onion?
<apc> beyond me. I've poked at tor but haven't messed with it much
<apc> the extent of my concern for anonymity is avoiding having to declare my mining as taxable income
<mrtrousers> Well if i have time ill put something up
<FreshFund> Method not found for !timetostake 29000

<HeyMerlin> Okay, I have a RAID developer on staff that I'll verify this with tomorrow... however... SSDs are different then HDDs. They do not require defragging, ever. The controller runs algorithms that cause the data to be moved around physically to balance wear. The view provided to the OS is not what is necessarily on the actual chips....
xms has quit [Quit: http://www.kiwiirc.com/ - A hand crafted IRC client]
<HeyMerlin> SSDs have random access ability whereas HDDs do not... okay, not in the same way. There is little difference between accessing two consecutive blocks and two widely separated blocks... block size vs boundries, etc. aside.
<HeyMerlin> Due to the physical layout of the data on the HDD platters, fragmentation is definitely a concern. Reducing mechanical seek times between reading/writing blocks is critical to performance.
<ravon> uuuh, wth. Is anyone elses mag way too high now?
<HeyMerlin> Also, win7+ does a decent job of maintaining SSDs. However there are things you can do to them to optimize your performance... this is a decent article on maintaining SSDs : http://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/the-care-and-feeding-of-solid-state-drives/

<HeyMerlin> Yes and no... Eclipse works the same on all three OSes but you run into problems when you move projects from one OS to another because Eclipse makes stupid assumptions.
<Peppernrino> i'm gonna do c++ and js on windows. ruby and python on linux.
<Peppernrino> it just feels more hackery. idk.

<HeyMerlin> Some people are having strange mag issues, including me... the guess is that it may have something to do with the current superblock.
<HeyMerlin> Both...
<HeyMerlin> for all the payout I'll get with a 0 mag I might as well be wanking.
<WhitesoxCrypto> oh, I see.. mine dropped to below half a day, and a day later was back to normal...
<WhitesoxCrypto> I guess it was down to that...
<HeyMerlin> likely yep. Some people have seen it jump.

<moisesm123> my PSU made some popping sound! :p let´s celebrate that old PSU is dead XD
<customminer> moisesm123: What?! It's not still plugged in is it? Assess damage!
<customminer> moisesm123: might've been a bug lol..
<moisesm123> nope
<moisesm123> but yesterday I got the new board, worked in BIOS and it then refused to boot
<moisesm123> just no POST at all
<moisesm123> it turned off when I changed the SATA Controller in BIOS
<moisesm123> then it refused to boot
<moisesm123> then I pot the old PSU to check if it was the PSU but it booted
<moisesm123> so I discarded PSU as a possible cause for the new board not booting
<moisesm123> BUT
<Mercosity> Now/
<moisesm123> today I put the new board and it made some popping sounds, or so I thought it was the board
<moisesm123> I changed the board with the old Pentium 4 motherboard and I head the same popping sound
<moisesm123> PSU is damn dead XD
<moisesm123> it refused to turn on after that XD
<moisesm123> but the motherboard itself receives power
<Mercosity> ^^
<moisesm123> just that it doesn´t turn on
<moisesm123> immediately shuts down
<moisesm123> I really hope the issue is the PSU and not the board
<moisesm123> I don´t wanna pay return shipping fee -_-

<moisesm123> thing is I have to go out and get a new PSU as I don´t have a spare one
<moisesm123> lol
<moisesm123> but the PSU is like, more than 10 years old
<Mercosity> Any power from psu check with meter?
<moisesm123> yes, it gave voltage right
<moisesm123> but most of the time a PSU gives voltage right
<moisesm123> and the issue is amps
<moisesm123> that happens with phone chargers
<Mercosity> yup
<moisesm123> they give 5v but not enough amps
<moisesm123> happened with the lattepanda which damaged a charger
<moisesm123> lol
<Mercosity> Not your day like me win 10 now on 5th restart!!
<moisesm123> nope. I´m ok today, but yesterday I was gonna cry
<Mercosity> Restart - Piffle Phut!!
<ravon> moisesm123, hey, maybe you can help me
<moisesm123> CPU is not the issue as I tested 2 different but same arcitecture CPU
<moisesm123> I tried an i3 and i7
<moisesm123> ravon tell me :)
<ravon> moisesm123, I use the +5V from the PATA HDD connectors of an ATX PSU
<moisesm123> they are Ivy Bridge CPU
<moisesm123> ok?
<ravon> moisesm123, Or one of them, and it is connected to a USB hub
<ravon> though most of my devices won't charge from that hub.
<moisesm123> hmm... I think it is the same issue
<moisesm123> amps
<moisesm123> but I think that an USB hub cables should be connected to the USB controller
<moisesm123> the controller is the responsible and senses how many power it should send
<moisesm123> maybe that is the issue
<ravon> YEah, I think so too
<ravon> Haven't had the balls to connect it to the one USB host I have available though since it controls the gridseed.
<moisesm123> hmm

<Yoduza> 12V low for what ? :o
<moisesm123> and the thing is that the PSU is rated at 340A
<Peppernrino> 13 amps won't run any kind of gpu...
<moisesm123> 340W**
<Peppernrino> LOL
<moisesm123> I think I fried the PSU with the hard disks alone...
<moisesm123> I had 5 HDD
<Peppernrino> hard drives are like 10 watts
<Yoduza> 340A using in gpu? :o what kind ?
<Peppernrino> when running
<moisesm123> noooo
<Yoduza> ohh
<moisesm123> but the 12V rail is just too low...
<moisesm123> I meant 340W
<Yoduza> normal, not low
<Peppernrino> 13 amps?
<Peppernrino> that's low
<moisesm123> Peppernrino, I´m talking about 5 very old ¨SATA¨ (those early SATA hard drives that actually uses an IDE controller)
<Yoduza> 13 amps ad-dc ?
<moisesm123> hard disk drives
<moisesm123> I think so
<Peppernrino> mine is 30A
<moisesm123> its +12V 13A output
<Yoduza> kk
<moisesm123> so I really think I fried the PSU... :(
<Yoduza> 12v * 30a = 360 w
<moisesm123> considering I used the 4 SATA power ports it has and I also used a MOLEX to SATA to connect the other HDD
<moisesm123> yeah but you see, this has 2 12V I haven´t seen that before
<moisesm123> it says +12V 13A and +12Vcpu 11.5A

<Mercosity> I can put up a snippet of my debug log in pm which I find interesting.
<Mercosity> customminer
<customminer> Mercosity: you could post it in github within code tags or put it into paste bin
<Mercosity> give me pastebins link if you have it
<customminer> Pastebin.com
<Mercosity> This bit of the log tracks what I think is the faulty block.
<customminer> Cool
<Mercosity> ok

<Wraken> When i run "list cpids" i got this Debug Info : "CPID corrupted (ext cpid) is it a problem ? (i'm mining with the pool)
<Erkan_Yilmaz> you have no own cpid when you mine with the pool
<Erkan_Yilmaz> or are you using pool and doing solo-mining also at same time ?
<Wraken> No just with the pool but this message is with the pool project
<Mercosity> Ok customminer have a look at that tell me what you think?

<customminer> Mercosity: it looks like someone's client is attempting to reward itself higher than it's owed
<Mercosity> yup
<Mercosity> I haven't put up the relevant cpid but it's there.
<customminer> Wraken: no, not an issue
<Wraken> ok thanks :) (sry for newbie questions)
<apc> could be mine
<apc> my mag is 115. wallet has 860
<apc> and the GRC is just pouring in
<customminer> Mercosity: maybe worth posting to the other github issue related to the super block issue
<apc> millions and millions of microGRC

<customminer> Mercosity: perhaps it could be helpful for Rob, but looking through for interesting sections would help
<customminer> Peppernrino: been using that boinc server docker for a couple weeks now, it's quite smart
<customminer> far easier than manually installing it
<Peppernrino> nice
<Peppernrino> docker is very exciting
<Peppernrino> also check pm in like 5 seconds. :D
<customminer> I've broken my docker server somehow lol

<customminer> Mercosity: Is your neural network fully synced?
<Mercosity> yup
<customminer> hmm
<Mercosity> I've just done syncdpor2
<Mercosity> No change
<customminer> Mercosity: Just executed it there? Once you run said command, it'll take like 15mins & there's a progress bar in the neural network window

<apc> I want it buried with me
<Mercosity> Yes I've got it syncing now. I sync my NN 10 + times a day when I'm here, the old sytem adminsttrator come out in me.
<apc> mercosity can have my grc
<Mercosity> Yeah completely synced again now and still the same.
<Mercosity> Houston we have a problem?
<Mercosity> I'm leaning towards another block download to freshen it up?
<customminer> I don't think download blocks will do anything
<Mercosity> [adminsttrator] - Whats that word!
<customminer> perhaps closing & launching the client will freshen it up?
<Mercosity> wierd or weird?
<customminer> weird!
<customminer> lol
<Mercosity> Ok I'll go for a relaunch/reboot. I'll do it from the client, can in windows.
<Mercosity> Vhy are ve vaitink!
<FreshFund> how do you see if your cpid is on the NN?
<Mercosity> with yours eyes.
<FreshFund> in what location do my eyes look?
