<kristianpaul> xiangfu: Hi
<kristianpaul> how much current drags the slx9 board as it is right now?
<xiangfu> kristianpaul, how do measure it?
<xiangfu> kristianpaul, I have a multimeter
<kristianpaul> you need tap your main powesupply source
<kristianpaul> and set multimeter to Amps
<kristianpaul> so one wire from main powersupply yo multimeter and the other wire return to slx9 board
<xiangfu> kristianpaul, sorry. the power supply is 5v. then goes to 1.2v and 3.3v. then both 1.2 and 3.3 goes to slx9. then GND back to power supply.
<xiangfu> kristianpaul, please give more detail how to do that. should I connect one PIN of multimeter to 5v+? then?
<kristianpaul> 5v power supply (GND) <--->(-)Multimeter(+)---> (GND)SLX9(+)<------>5v power supply
<kristianpaul> xiangfu: yes
<kristianpaul> 5v or GND
<kristianpaul> then back to the slx9
<kristianpaul> you tap onw of the two wires that provides the 5V using the multimeter
<kristianpaul> either 5v or gnsd wich get esier to you
<xiangfu> I connect to 5v+ and 1.2v+. it give 0.1mA
<kristianpaul> what about connect between slx9 gnd and power supply gns
<xiangfu> wait. it's 0.65mA
<kristianpaul> connect multimeter between those two
<kristianpaul> hmm and thats "standy" is a bit power hungry.. well thats to be expected
<kristianpaul> you could compare later when load a mm bitstream to it :)
<xiangfu> what happen if I load mm bitstream to slx9?
<xiangfu> I have tried load fjmem to slx9.
<xiangfu> since the mm/fjmem bitstream are all for slx45
<kristianpaul> but fjmem is intended for flashing a NOR basically no?
<kristianpaul> i not sure what will happen.. but there is only way :)

<kristianpaul> xiangfu: basically mm bitream will not fit
<kristianpaul> xiangfu: Btw !
<kristianpaul> what are your intentions with that slx9? :-)
<kristianpaul> are you designing next qi-hw device? :o

<xiangfu> learning..
<kristianpaul> good
<kristianpaul> you have plans for adding peripherals besides jtag? :-)
<kristianpaul> guess serial port for a tiny mm soc :_D
<xiangfu> yes. or maybe trigger a LED light by jtag.
<kristianpaul> ah thats interesting

<hellekin> today I will meet people from Intel Brazil.
<hellekin> I already made contact with the marketing director of CEITEC, the Brazilian chip fab.
<hellekin> Both companies were quite surprised with the concepts I proposed them, and also interested. They probably don't have many people offering them to change the world by helping their competitors.

<Ayla> do you guys know how I can power off the device from a non-linux code? (from a bootloader actually)
<Ayla> I'd like the bootloader to power off the device if there's an error
<whitequark> yeah. check the jz4720 manual on power management
<whitequark> you'd need to turn off backlight GPIO and put the CPU in the deepest sleep mode
<Ayla> that's enough?
<whitequark> afaik yes
<Ayla> thank you, I'll take a look
