E/AudioHardwareYamaha( 1730): Can't load all functions from libsecril-client.so …
<ohanar>
Did they really make audio depend on the ril?

Well I guess that the I815 will be wifi only until I can find some cdma/lte ril that is compatible with the ICS audio blobs

Kaik541: not yet, but I just got the device to a lock screen, so there are plenty of other things to fix (especially since I'm working off of the smdk4210 kernel, which doesn't even include the gpio info for the I815)

<stickyboy>
I saw you pushed a defconfig + kernel stuff lastnight or os.
<stickyboy>
s/os/so/
<ohanar>
yeah, I started last night
<cdesai>
ohanar: p8 seriously ?
<cdesai>
pn is used by samsung for tablets
<cdesai>
sasmsung: y u so weird
<stickyboy>
It's a tablet.. so that makes sense ;)
<ohanar>
yeah, but the order they use doesn't make any sense
<cdesai>
p1 was first
<cdesai>
p2 idk
<cdesai>
p3 first i/o tab
<cdesai>
aka 10.1v
<cdesai>
p4 was 10.1
<cdesai>
p5 8.9
<cdesai>
after that it's all confusing
<cdesai>
ohanar: which tab is it ?
<ohanar>
p2 is tab 7+
<ohanar>
p8 is tab 7.7
<cdesai>
wtf ?
<ohanar>
p8lte is verizon tab 7.7 (and uses a different board)
<cdesai>
how can they just add a tablet between
<cdesai>
#blamesamsung
<vbraun>
p8.5 ;-)
<stickyboy>
hehe
<ohanar>
anyway, I got to a lock screen, but without working touch for no clear reason
<Espenfjo>
oh, Samsung introduced the emmc hardbrick to the new firmwares for the int.sgs2
<Espenfjo>
that is funny
<stickyboy>
Espenfjo: And even in the Tab 7.7 ICS release from last week apparently. :)
<ohanar>
Espenfjo: it looks like we may have gotten them on the official rollout for the p6800 too
<ohanar>
much smaller user base though, so there are only a handful of potential reports
<ohanar>
stickyboy: can you test the changes I've made to the device/vendor/kernel trees; I had to change some stuff (mostly moving things around) since is a bit more different than I was expecting
<stickyboy>
ohanar: For shizzle.
<stickyboy>
Shit, you were busy last night.
<stickyboy>
ohanar: I rooted that stupid Huawei btw.
<stickyboy>
Turns out `fastboot boot` doesn't work. I spent hours trying to get custom kernel + ramdisk booting. Huawei broke :)
<ohanar>
joy
<stickyboy>
Yeah. fastboot boot was a joy to have... too bad most vendors end up sabotoging it (either on purpose or through incompetence)
<ohanar>
I had a scary situation today
<ohanar>
turns out that the I815 download mode only will flash signed kernels
<stickyboy>
...
<ohanar>
of course heimdall gave me no indication of that
<ohanar>
so I was flashing stuff, and it wouldn't change anything
<stickyboy>
Hah, I know that feeling.
<ohanar>
so I figured heimdall was broken; decided to use dd (since I had rooted the I815)
<ohanar>
that worked, but I had built a broken kernel
<stickyboy>
So it wouldn't boot...
<ohanar>
exactly, so hoping, I tried flashing the stock kernel
<ohanar>
everything worked :)
<stickyboy>
Ah.
<stickyboy>
A bit unfortunate, though...
<stickyboy>
With this Huawei I didn't *have* a stock kernel haha.
<stickyboy>
So I ended up erasing recovery, and flashing my custom kernel there.
<stickyboy>
At least if it broke I still had the boot partition working :)
<stickyboy>
I've since made a safe copy of the original boot image :)
<ohanar>
yeah, I made sure to do that first thing
<stickyboy>
Tabs are better, though, as they have separate boot and recovery.
<stickyboy>
More room for playing
<cdesai>
stickyboy: not all
<cdesai>
#blamesamsung
<cdesai>
my tab has a separate boot and recovery partition but only boot is used, and we have to add recovery to kernel
<stickyboy>
cdesai: No shit? It's unused?
rodgort has quit [Quit: ERC Version 5.3 (IRC client for Emacs)]
<cdesai>
aye
<cdesai>
even on aries
<stickyboy>
cdesai: I didn't know aries even had a recovery partition.
<stickyboy>
I was a n00b back then though.
<cdesai>
p1 is basically a big aries
<stickyboy>
cdesai: Ah, the original gangster Tab 7. ;)
