Hello. I noticed there were two nightly builds posted today. Does the second one resolve the Bluetooth phone call audio quality issue? Thanks! Bluetooth A2DP sounds fantastic.

Is anyone around?
<EgotisticalElf>
out of the 40 some builds, we magically know which one you're talking about
<greg__>
Sorry, I forget about all the devices you guys are supporting.
<greg__>
I was asking about the t0lte (Note 2)
<EgotisticalElf>
if you have RM premium, it'll give you a commit changelog of the difference between them
<EgotisticalElf>
i don't have a note2, so i can't check on my device
<greg__>
I do, let me play with that...never tried it bfore
<greg__>
before
<greg__>
Hey...nice
<EgotisticalElf>
ya, i find it really useful
<greg__>
Doesn't look like anything changed for the t0lte between builds 18987 and 18932
<EgotisticalElf>
it gets all the sub repos, and none of the ones i don't care about
<dotoli>
hi there. I've just flashed the latest nightly (for 10.1) as an update and my wifi and data don't turn blue and half my apps are saying they arent installed when I click on them. I've gone into recovery and done a wipe and the issues persist. am i missing anything? (im on the i9300)

yup, you didnt wipe data (factory reset) and probably didnt install gapps
<bealtine>
i'm just moaning about the MTP "not work" gang
<codeworkx>
afaik the latest ubuntu got the new gvfs package with mtp support
<codeworkx>
so this should work too
<codeworkx>
and whoever expects win xp to support mtp is just stupid
<codeworkx>
it's 12 years old
<QuinnLion>
bealtine, MTP is shite. no matter the platform :| You must admit it.
<QuinnLion>
codeworkx, mtp works on XP with WMP11 installed.
<QuinnLion>
still need sammy drivers though :P

<mjt>
speaking of windows, mtp does not work in anything but windows explorer - ie, you can't access it from command line or from other tools.
<codeworkx>
windows is windows xD
<mjt>
on linux all mtp clients are incomplete and buggy in one way or another.
<mjt>
and finally, android mtp _server_ does not let to set timestamps for files being copied to it, so you lose timestamps when copying stuff to the device.
work_toke has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
work_toke has joined #teamhacksung-support
<mjt>
codeworkx: it sometimes works with some devices
<codeworkx>
it works with all my devices
<mjt>
i know 2 main mtp clients for linux -- mtpfs and jmtpfs
<codeworkx>
gvfs, gvfs-gphoto2, libmtp
<mjt>
mtpfs chokes badly when device export two mtp "filesystems" (like "phone" and "card") and even if it does only one, it crashes often. It does not understand timestamps at all (in neither directions)
<mjt>
gvfs is like windows explorer - you can't find/grep/etc it
a3Dman has quit [Ping timeout: 256 seconds]
<mjt>
jmtpfs is a bit better in all respects, but it also crashes, and crashes badly when copying files >2Gb
<mjt>
phone call...
<bealtine>
back...so yeah the mtp libs you are using suck
peterperfect has left #teamhacksung-support [#teamhacksung-support]
<mjt>
codeworkx: the jmtpfs 2Gb issue might be due to me using 32bit userspace
<mjt>
i haven't had a chance to debug it
<QuinnLion>
heh
<mjt>
i tried to improve mtpfs first (before I found jmtpfs) - that package goot booted from debian for one, because it is buggy and noone wants to maintain it - I planned to take it over, but failed completely, because the code sucks
<QuinnLion>
I had issues with MTP hanging on Windows when transfering a 3GB ISO
<bealtine>
heh i get pains when i hammer nails into my foot
<codeworkx>
mjt: gvfs allows grep/find and whatever
* QuinnLion
can finnaly say he knows someone that has a hard-on for MTP :D
<mjt>
codeworkx: maybe i just don't know what gvfs is.. i always thougth it is like windows explorer plugin, but for nautilus and some other file managers
<QuinnLion>
Time to watch some movies
<bealtine>
i just dont understand all the whing
<bealtine>
whining
<mjt>
libmtp9 1.1.5-1 -- that's the current version i'm using, it is from debian experimental, current debian testing version crashes on sgs3 and sgn2
<bealtine>
obviously the lib sucks
<bealtine>
move on or fix it
<codeworkx>
mjt: libmtp 1.1.5 is in arch stable since 2012-09-23
<codeworkx>
:-D
<codeworkx>
we all know that debian is 2 years behind the real worls
<codeworkx>
world*
<mjt>
codeworkx: debian testing has been frozen since 2012-06
<mjt>
in order to release wheezy

I am in the process of installing cyanogen on my Samsung S2 i9100 but I keep getting an "ERROR: Claiming interface failed!" message... Any pointer on what could be wrong? I tried to google it but appearantly the issue is known for Mac users but I am using Windows 7 64 bit here...
<FraX_>
I noticed that I have to boot to download mode (volume down, power and home button) *while* connecting to USB.. It explicitely states the S2 has to be powered down beforehand, but perhaps the order in which the PC finds the phone and I initialize the download mode has something to do with it?
<FraX_>
You guys seem to be quite determined about the port, so perhaps I'll just try some more on my motherboard. Dont have a second cable though
<FraX_>
About things that surely have nothing to do with it: USB debugging setting is a don't care (I have set it to debug to be sure though)
<chadouming_work>
it must be set on debug
<chadouming_work>
then reboot your phone into download
<chadouming_work>
and plug it in your pc
<FraX_>
Ok so order could be relevant, and the suggested order is Phone first, then PC connect.. Got it
<chadouming_work>
there should be a yellow case appearing
<FraX_>
chaud, are you sure about the yellow case (triangle with exclaimation point in it)?
<chadouming_work>
not a triangle
<chadouming_work>
on the phone yes
<chadouming_work>
on odin software, one case should turn yellow
<FraX_>
Ok, because I havent seen that one
<FraX_>
Oh lol I have xD
<FraX_>
sorry I'm a bit tired :P
<FraX_>
I am using Heimdall btw - didnt explicitly say that...

Just download Odin from Samsung website or...?
<FraX_>
(I am not sure what the role of Odin is in the whole process)

you have anything to say beside that ? Cm team will do what they have when they have the time to do it. In the meanwhile, you can revert to your previous working rom.

are any of the current i9100 nightlies specifically good or should I just flash the newest one?
<kZard|nb>
(I'm planning on going from 4.0.3 to CM 10.1 nightly)
<kZard|nb>
*from stock to CM
<Bert_>
I have not had any particular problem with any 10.1 i9100 (or p7510) since going to CM. Make that 1 month and 4 months respectively.
<kZard|nb>
cool
<Bert_>
I actually find that I get about 10% better battery life, which I attribute to the lack of background running bloatware.
<kZard|nb>
oh cool

I just bought the 2000 mAh extended battery pack
