<kristianpaul>
just thinking usb gadkey support as kbb, will be usefull to execute scripts from nanonote

hmm ... 20 g payload. so we'll need antimatter as energy source for the killer satellite
<wpwrak>
even 10 g would be pretty weak, though. only about 1/5 megaton. well, if we can shape it into a narrowly focused beam ...
<wpwrak>
world domination by brute force is difficult :-(

wpwrak: so, do you have an efficient way of gathering small (ca. 1 gram range) amounts of antimatter?
<whitequark>
that's cool!
<whitequark>
is it OSHW?
<wpwrak>
i wish i had. well, or maybe not :)

PICs, lest remove some dust here
<wpwrak>
kristianpaul: wrestling with PICs ?
<kristianpaul>
not much, actually getting ready for a dorkbot meeting in the town in two weeks
<wpwrak>
"dorkbot" nice name ;-)

while not measuring up to qi-hardware totally open philosophy, this will be a great little cheap n($35) yet powerful Linux computer when it ships in large numbers iJune-ish 2012
<wpwrak>
roh: what's surprising when trolls do what trolls do best ? :)
<roh>
wpwrak: i just checked up the facts.. the pi is not more foss than any noname china mediaplayercrud being forced to release the gpl parts. in short: its closes source.
<roh>
we would be better off as a community to support vendors who actually release documentation and reverse the bits left out than to support something which is completely closed from the start.
<roh>
means from my pov, the pi is fraud.
<roh>
broadcom driven whitewashing to try to tap the market ti serves with their also not fully open beagle and panda series.
<wpwrak>
the pi is simply irrelevant. no matter whether it's open or not.
<roh>
ack.
<roh>
just wanted to make sure we all know the facts ;)
<kristianpaul>
pi = 13.14592... last time i knew it
<kristianpaul>
oh, sure vendor non disclosure, closed plans, even just blobs for certain kernel vesions !! (come on !!)
<wpwrak>
kristianpaul: is that defined by law in your country ?
<kristianpaul>
wpwrak: no
<wpwrak>
hmm, dictated by creed then, perhaps ? :)
<kristianpaul>
he
<kristianpaul>
perhaps indeed ;)
<jow_laptop>
oh, broadcom is behind the pi think?
<jow_laptop>
didn't know
<wpwrak>
most people stick with 3.1415926..., so it's always interesting when there's a place where they use a different value
<jow_laptop>
s/think/thing/
<kristianpaul>
wpwrak: oh :)
<wpwrak>
;-))
<kristianpaul>
i'll try remenber that six next time
<wpwrak>
the leading 1 may be more bothersome when it comes to making practical use of your calculations :)
<kristianpaul>
argh,!
<wpwrak>
*grin*
<urandom__>
meh that rasbery pi looks so good, something like that as open hardware would be really cool
<wpwrak>
if you could hack the CPU that's already inside the TV you need for the R-Pi, you'd have something at least equivalently powerful and USD 25 cheaper ;-)
