<nebajoth> Y HALO THAR
<killi> Finally got some time to try out my NN, and i am starting to understand how things work but i have two questions: 1: i have downloaded a dingux game, a sokoban clone. But when i start the game everything seem to work, sound arrow keys and esc, but when i try to press enter to begin the game it doesnt respond. Is there any way i can alter keybindings or something else i can do to make enter work? 2: Qt, i read about it in the blog a while ago, but the blog
<zear> killi, enter corresponds to dingoo's "start" button
<zear> let me paste you the whole dingoo to nanonote keymappings
<zear> and you can't change the keymappings without recompiling an app
<zear> because there's no emulation layer, it's just the fact that dingoo is binary compatible with the nanonote
<zear> and that dingoo keys happen to be mapped to ctrl, alt, shift, enter, etc, and we're lucky enough to also have that keys on the nn
<killi> zear: thanks for the reply, its just so strange that everything works except the enter button which starts the game
<zear> killi, and you're sure that this game has "enter" to start?
<zear> maybe it starts with dingoo's A or X
<killi> i thougt i tried all but i give it another go:)
<zear> :D
<zear> maybe it's just right arrow or something
<zear> if that's joyrider's sokoban, i think you can remap the buttons in the menu
<killi> it was just called sokoban(dingux), but it started with the fn key! Thanks man:)
<zear> yeah, fn is actually alt or shift
<zear> or something like that
<killi> ah i see:)
<kyak> i compiled (as i believe) uClibc with locale support. Now the kernel is panicing during boot. How i can debug? There is no useful information in kernel output
<kyak> so i'm stuck.
<Ornotermes> anyone know how to fix the colors in the nanonote console?
<tuxbrain> hi channel!
<Ornotermes> hi tuxbrain
<tuxbrain> Ornotermes: I have another electronic question for you :P
<Ornotermes> tuxbrain: ok, shoot
<tuxbrain> how to transform a 0-5V PWM signal in a -12,+12 V signal
<Ornotermes> tuxbrain: use a max232 or similar chip
<Ornotermes> its designed for rs232 level conversion but i thin it would do
<tuxbrain> it can provide a -12 to +12 voltage range?
<Ornotermes> tuxbrain: maybe, im not sure, what you need it for?
<tuxbrain> I need somthing similiar to what L293D provides but I don't find a way to deal with the negative voltage
<tuxbrain> I want to provide to a servo that controls his position by voltage from -12 to +12 with a the PWM signal from an arduino board
<kristianpaul> hello tuxbrain
<tuxbrain> hi kristianpaul :)
<kristianpaul> aloha ;)
<tuxbrain> your in hawai lucky (put here some strong and ugly words)?
<kristianpaul> oh no me in colombia :)
<kristianpaul> just raining too much this night
<kristianpaul> tuxbrain: what gps are you planning to plug to Ben?
<kristianpaul> i'm curios
<ezdagor> Anyone know how to make a kernel .BIN image?
<ezdagor> dd if= so= ?
<ezdagor> dd if= of= ?
<ezdagor> Thanks.
<kristianpaul> oh
<kristianpaul> smallone :)
<tuxbrain> you can also see pictures in the same url directory
<tuxbrain> yes it also can fit inside the bnn with the embedd antena out
<kristianpaul> oh ephel
<tuxbrain> yep :) and the new toy for it (motorized lens) arrives tomorrow :) :) :)
<tuxbrain> my wife sure will left me :P
<tuxbrain> well luckily my daughter will keep me far enough of this candies time enough to make her not so angry
<kristianpaul> :)
<kristianpaul> is it working now?
<kristianpaul> gpsd?
<kristianpaul> jlime?
<kristianpaul> openwrt?
<tuxbrain> now you gonna killme .. not tested yet
<tuxbrain> I will follow your steps, my first shot will be Jlime
<kristianpaul> let document a bit on qi wiki too
<tuxbrain> sure
<kristianpaul> i still having no luck gpsd is not detecting gps (i no why but need recompile gpsd first and rafa will travel :/)
<tuxbrain> what was the problem?
<kristianpaul> and alsoit just works one way i have the RX pin from gps not wired
<kristianpaul> gpsd is suposed to be smart
<kristianpaul> so i guess what gps is wired
<kristianpaul> that take time
<kristianpaul> sometime tooo much
<kristianpaul> i just drop some devices from the binaries and then i got better respones time
<kristianpaul> i did on my computer
<kristianpaul> and worked fne
<kristianpaul> but Oe/Jlime is new world to me and i relay on good rafa work for all this sofware stuff
<kristianpaul> next step is create a custom compilation of gpsd
<kristianpaul> and resolve the problem with RX (gps stop sending data when i wire both tx and rx)
<kristianpaul> so fat just works with the TX wired
<kristianpaul> dont knw why :/
<kristianpaul> i made some tests yday and is not short or power issues
<kristianpaul> i'll dig more today
<kristianpaul> but man tangogps run so cool in jlime :D
<kristianpaul> also flcikering is gone
<kristianpaul> i love this distro :)
<tuxbrain> I can really understand you :) I have felt in love whit it at first sight on my hp jornada, so now with bnn is twice the joy :)
<kristianpaul> :D
<tuxbrain> I will report any success failure on gps In short I promise
<kristianpaul> please i need feedback
<tuxbrain> time to some sleep
<kristianpaul> sure
<kristianpaul> nice sleep for yoy
<qi-commits> Xiangfu Liu: [new package][hnb] hierarchical notebook. by Jirka http://qi-hw.com/p/openwrt-packages/f5fb358
<xdpirate> what filesystem is used on the openwrt nand?
<xdpirate> ext3?
<xdpirate> IN openwrt ON the NAND, rather
<larsc> ubifs
<xdpirate> larsc, thanks
<xdpirate> btw has there been a port of the man page viewer to the nanonote yet?
<larsc> busybox probably has one
<kristianpaul> ca any one remenber me the url for binary stuff for openwtrt-xbusrt
<kristianpaul> ?
<kristianpaul> xiangfu: just commented ttySo line in /etc/inittan now picocom is okay  http://paste.debian.net/80048/
<kristianpaul> ttyS0
<xiangfu> great.
<kristianpaul> now my problem is ... :/ the TX port
<kristianpaul> look
<kristianpaul> i wire GPS TX to Ben TX, and i can read data, well gpsd can and picocom, cat etc...
<kristianpaul> but
<kristianpaul> if i wire GPS RX to Ben TX, the data transmision from Ben stops
<kristianpaul> it happens in Jlime, and last qi openqrt image
<kristianpaul> it happens in two nanonotes
<kristianpaul> so...
<kristianpaul> without RX i cant send commands to GPS :/
<kristianpaul> but !
<kristianpaul> if i made a simple loop RX <-> TX in the Ben nanonote, and run picocom it works
<kristianpaul> i mean it got echo by ttyS0
<kristianpaul> so...
<kristianpaul> what is wrong?..
<kristianpaul> speed? (gps is expected to work at 57600)
<kristianpaul> interrups?
<kristianpaul> my gps?
<kristianpaul> shortcircuit) noise?
<kristianpaul> i'm lost on this one..
<kristianpaul> but of course gps works nice when i hook up to my computer
<kristianpaul> so..
<kristianpaul> argg
<kristianpaul> :(
<kristianpaul> is TP5 wired to something else?
<xiangfu> kristianpaul: seems the TX and RX can not work at same time.
<kristianpaul> :'(
<kristianpaul> what can i do xiangfu ?
<kristianpaul> software trick in kernel to manage it?
<xiangfu> kristianpaul: hmm..
<kristianpaul> gps is just to close and now this
<xiangfu> kristianpaul: is there any error message in [dmesg] ?
<kristianpaul> wait
<kristianpaul> nope xiangfu
<kristianpaul> maybe is realted with uboot?
<kristianpaul> now i need compare my test with tuxbrain_away ;)
<kristianpaul> but i can confirm gps works
<kristianpaul> i also tought was a power issue a got a extenela 3.3v but same..
<kristianpaul> s/extenela/external
<xiangfu> kristianpaul: try  to press [S] when boot. and test again.
<kristianpaul> ok
<kristianpaul> wait me
<xiangfu> kristianpaul: then press [S]. the u-boot try to init uart gpio again.
<kristianpaul> doing now
<kristianpaul> but now?
<kristianpaul> i saw "hit any key yo stop autoboot"
<kristianpaul> and then some  random characters
<kristianpaul> now is doping somethin i saw <INTERRUPT>
<kristianpaul> and random characters display on screen..
<kristianpaul> xiangfu: ?
<xiangfu> kristianpaul: yes. if the serial [which under battery] is not connect to PC. there will be random characters.
<kristianpaul> ouch
<kristianpaul> wait
<kristianpaul> so i myst boot wich the serial [which under battery] and thenall be fine?
<kristianpaul> then i can unplg that serial and use my TP4/5 and gps, right?
<kristianpaul> xiangfu: ^
<xiangfu> kristianpaul: yes
<kristianpaul> ok
<kristianpaul> i need my buspirate wait me
<kristianpaul> 57600 8,N 1 right?
<xiangfu> kristianpaul: I should disable the bootdelay when press [S]
<kristianpaul> ok
<xiangfu> yes 57600 8 N 1
<kristianpaul> how long is that delay
<xiangfu> 3 secs
<kristianpaul> *** Warning - bad CRC or NAND, using default enviroment
<kristianpaul> still there
<xiangfu> kristianpaul: ok. I create another u-boot. reflash this one:
<kristianpaul> ok
<kristianpaul> what's new on that?
<xiangfu> remove the bootdelay when press[s].
<kristianpaul> ok
<kristianpaul> lets see how that helps
<kristianpaul> wait
<xiangfu> when nand read. do ecc check.. and fix mmc bug.
<xiangfu> ok.
<ezdagor> Question... when compiling the kernel... how do I "include" the kernel modules?
<ezdagor> Do I do a "make modules_install" and zip them all up, or what?
<ezdagor> I guess I answered my own question..
<xiangfu> kristianpaul: is that work?
<kristianpaul> wait wait a min i just finish wiring buspirate
<xiangfu> ezdagor: when compile kernel . the modules also compiled. just not install.
<xiangfu> kristianpaul: sure.
<ezdagor> xiangfu: Nod.
<xiangfu> ezdagor: if you select [M] in menuconfig
<ezdagor> Yeah. But, to install them...
<kristianpaul> yeah now i got booting on uart from battery
<ezdagor> I'm thinking about storing the kernel source code on a micro SD card, symbolically linking it to /usr/src/linux and then doing a "make modules_install"
<ezdagor> After compiling the kernel, I mean..
<kristianpaul> i mean got booting process show by uart
<xiangfu> ezdagor: you try to compile kernel in NanoNote ?
<ezdagor> I'm going to try.
<ezdagor> I have a second partition on the SD card, ~512MB for swap.
<ezdagor> Hopefully that will be enough.
