<wpwrak>
i changed the background colors to be generally lighter, so that black text is still readable. before, i set some text to white but that didn't really work.
<wpwrak>
alas, it now has a fairly greyish look (not too unlike what i see when peeking out of the window :), but i hope readability has improved

<ahycka>
this a very first approach, just to see what fits
<ahycka>
only the biggest components have been placed without any consideration whatsoever to their real location
<ahycka>
there are some other small chips that can fit in the empty space
<wpwrak>
hmm, that scale looks strange
<ahycka>
and lots of smd components, most of which will probably decoupling capacitors which are not also easier to place on the opposite side of the board, but also very recommended
<ahycka>
that's as imported from eagle
<ahycka>
almost or maybe all footprints have been imported without problem
<wpwrak>
lemme check ...
<ahycka>
the biggest thing is the modem
<DocScrutinizer05>
it seems you've put a rather large second SIM-tray in there
<wpwrak>
aah, that's the modem. okay
<ahycka>
yep, biggest thing is the modem
<ahycka>
two simtrays
<ahycka>
leftmost is wlan
<ahycka>
vibrator below
<ahycka>
speakers at each corner
<ahycka>
small bob connector up right
<ahycka>
IR above modem, near the edge of the pcb
<ahycka>
and something to the right of one speaker that i just forgot what it is
<ahycka>
ah, that's the nfc controller
<ahycka>
everything else is either small chips or smd components
<ahycka>
it seems that these things will fit very easily
<DocScrutinizer05>
U1601 is TRF7970
<DocScrutinizer05>
NFC
<ahycka>
yep, correct
<ahycka>
as i say, i've just placed biggest things to see if they fit together
<ahycka>
as a vast approach, looks good
<DocScrutinizer05>
:nod:
<DocScrutinizer05>
thanks a lot
<ahycka>
the numbers you'ev passed to ceene are quite good too
<ahycka>
as 100x50 which is a rectangle inside the pcb
<ahycka>
is 5000mm^2
<ahycka>
of which we have two sides
<ahycka>
so that's cleary more than 6000mm^2
<ahycka>
as 10>6 :)
<DocScrutinizer05>
wpwrak: could you please have a closer look and suggest further action, I need to go shopping for 2h
<wpwrak>
i think the next items would be to define exact component locations for the bits that need to be at a specific place, and to integrate the pending changes into the schematics
<DocScrutinizer05>
btw we won't use that IrDA module
<ahycka>
yeah, i guess simcard and other things have strict placement definitions
<wpwrak>
later on we'll also need a height profile for S4 (to match the slider) but that's not really a concern for v2
<ahycka>
if that irda module is not the tone, schematic shall be updated before routing then
<ahycka>
s/tone/one/
* ahycka
blames infobot
<wpwrak>
sim#2 is also quite different. and i still have to find a nice place for it :) well, the exact place. we have a rough location (front edge, to the right, on S2)
<DocScrutinizer05>
[2016-05-29 Sun 18:24:19] <DocScrutinizer05> soory for above mistake: leading *LOWER* and trailing *UPPER* in schematics
<DocScrutinizer05>
[2016-05-29 Sun 18:25:41] <DocScrutinizer05> except sensors (sheet#10) which all may go to upper
<DocScrutinizer05>
[2016-05-29 Sun 18:28:28] <DocScrutinizer05> for sheet#18 (hackerbus) please see the note and refer to the HB.pdf from resources which has details on the connectors to be used

just the bot had a hickup on the "apt" nick/account, which I learned why and how to work around that
