Wizzup: ping, sorry you mentioned me the other day but I missed the notification
<javier__>
Wizzup: re: what's missing in mainline for snow and peach pit / pi
<javier__>
snow and peach pit don't have a working display yet, the drm bridge patches from Ajay are needed
<javier__>
peach pi still doesn't have trackpad working, the atmel mxt touchscreen driver does not support the protocol used by the chip in the pi
<javier__>
wifi support is missing in all the machines (snow, peach pi[t])
<javier__>
Wizzup, dme: that's all I can think of, the rest of the peripherals *should* be working
<javier__>
ah, I didn't look at the built-in camera neither so that's probably missing too
<Wizzup>
hi
<Wizzup>
cool, thanks for the update!
<javier__>
Wizzup: yw
<javier__>
Wizzup: Ajay's drm bridge patches seems to be in good shape now so most likely they will make it for 3.19 or 3.20
<javier__>
we posted some RFC patches for trackpad support in pi, need to find time to cleanup that and post a proper patch series
<javier__>
Wizzup: anyway, just saw in my backlog that you asked me and I never answered so better later than never ;)
<Wizzup>
Yea, thanks. Actually just yesterday I laid out new plans for my snow, so I'll definitely try it out, possibly mainline with mentioned patches on top, or something.
<Wizzup>
Wifi doesn't work yet because of some power management stuff, right?
<javier__>
Wizzup: well, there is certainly an issue on Peach Pi if CPU freq is >= 1.9 GHz then you have to switch the INT voltage rail to its maximum voltage
ukki has quit [*.net *.split]
<javier__>
otherwise the mmc / sdio interface becomes unstable AFAIU
<javier__>
Wizzup: but the latest series that added CPUFreq support for Exynos5420 had 1.8 GHz as the maximum operating point
<javier__>
probably due the issue I just mentioned
<Wizzup>
Interesting
ukki has joined #linux-exynos
<Wizzup>
well, I'll probably start with a mainline kernel for the ifc (msm), the from there work to create mainline kernels for the exynos devices I have, and then finally update the wiki
<javier__>
Wizzup: so the power managament issue you are saying does exist but shouldn't happen in mainline although the CPU freq can't also be set to the maximum supported
<Wizzup>
I see -- then why does the wiki not work? (stupid question maybe)
<Wizzup>
I think that quite some time ago there was already wifi for snow in the kernel, but it never worked (well)
<javier__>
Wizzup: well I have to look at the Snow DTS but I'm pretty sure the Peach Pi/Pit DTS is missing bits needed by wifi
<javier__>
and also the driver is not enabled in exynos_defconfig
<javier__>
I've had to look at wifi support in my TODO for a long time, I may find some time this week to look at it
<javier__>
at least to know what is missing, needed, etc
