I have ~3TB over ~50 torrents that I want to make available via ipfs, is there a example of someone else doing this I can go look into? A big chunk of that 3TB is mirrored on archive.org (thus it has webtorrent seeds from there) and others seed the full set independently. Is there a way to leverage these existing seeds without changing the software on their end?

archive.org also has ipfs support; I don't know if that covers everything or just some collections

Is there anyway to hook into the logging/event system of a go-ipfs node via an API? say for example I want to monitor the DHT traffic of my node to see if it's being asked to provide any hashes or blocks that I don't have pinned so I can then pin that to speed up response time, is this possible?

Right now the only way I can think of doing this is dumping logs to a file and parsing it that way but I'd be worried about the file size growth over a long period of time
<deltab>
voldial: to avoid copying the whole dataset when you add it to ipfs, there's an option you can set for in-place file storage; I can't remember it at this time of night though
<voldial>
great, thanks I will look into archive's ipfs support and utilize the in-place option
<deltab>
postables1337[m]: maybe it's possible to log to a pipe, and have the program at the other end handle it

that streams logs as json objects, as far as I know

there's also an API endpoint/cli command for switching the log level of individual components

Yea I've used the cli before but for some reason didn't think it was available via the API lol

i dont think there's any concrete guide. Your best bet is to probably look through some of the more well-known interfaces and follow a similar implementation style.

I'm new to matrix. So I was chechking these popular channels. So I've so thisone. Didn't know what IPFS was about. So keep following the links from this channel info. I'm just so amazed with it.

Now I'm just reading more about it, was reading the paper, but got into something that I crossed before and wasan't able to get, DHT. Does some of you suggest something to undestending it?

someone mentioned a content moderation tool or library for IPFS... any have links to something for identifying illicit or inappropriate content on the network? or application-level tools for filtering/moderating IPFS network content?

dietricha: i think there's a list of IPFS hashes somewhere in thsi repo (https://github.com/ipfs/infra) that have been requested to be removed from the `ipfs.io` gateway due to DCMA takedowns so that could potentially be a starting point.
<postables[m]>
there's also some libraries or rulesets out there published by i think yahoo or the FBI that can be used to detect innapropriate content i think
