Hi. What might cause a 2.5" 500G sata2 hdd plugged via sata cable only (power pins are connected to 5V/2.5A psu directly) to make cubieboard (first one) silently fail to boot?

It boots from microsd with sata cable unplugged and I've tried dd'ing microsd contents to hdd jic it might try booting from it, but that also didn't work

hdmi seem to show "no signal" only, too

Given that it shouldn't be either power-related or "can't decide what to boot from" thing, don't know what else to try

I succesfull install Cubieez on my cubieboard v1 on SD card. And after that I try connect to it via Putty with SSH and have problem with login. I enter username: root and password: cubieboard. And get answer from Cubie Access Denied. Where is error?

you could insert sdcard into another computer, mount the volume containing /root, create .ssh directory in there and place public key of root user, set permissions of .ssh and public key properly, then try passwordless login

but then, you could also nullify user or root passwords in /etc/shadow

ehm ... not sure where nullified passwords allow passwordless ssh login. may not work, actually.
