Just got a cubieboard 2. cubieboard.org doesn't seem to have any info on initial powerup and what to expect.

Plugged in the supplied USB cable to power the board. Also plugged in HDMI

At some point I see a green LED and a flashing blue.

On the monitor I see Cubier and a monkey on brown background

Then at the bottom there seem to be some selections (setup, etc)

but when I try to select those selections (the left/right arrow seem to work) they don't go anywhere (hitting enter)

Anyway, are there some "getting started" or "initial powerup" docs that I'm missing? I see tutorials about how to install various flavors of Linux on the cubieboard2, but nothing about initial powerup or what to expect.

I'm writing the sdcard again (with dd) I'll see if it works this time... after using dd to write to the micro sd card, do you have to do something to ensure that the data is flushed to the sd card?

Not very successful in capturing that output... tee doesn't work because screen just stops at some point and if you kill it the output doesn't get flushed to the file.

Hi everyone! I just got a Cubietruck (B review) and I tried to power it via DC. Not sure why, but it simply doesn't work. The Cubie powers perfectly via OTG but in this case, USB ports does not work. Anyone knows a workaround so I can make USB ports work? Or it's better to send back the board?

alinam: the board is a bit finicky about its power bricks. The brick and the cable need to have rather low internal resistance

jelly-home thanks! Charging through OTG works again. If only I could find a way to make the USB keyboard/mouse work...But I think the failure of DC port limits the board a lot (so I'd probably return/try to change it).
