Ok, so pretty sure my cubieboard2 is not booting from the micro sd card. I've tried a couple of different cards. any idea?

I used dd to write the img file to the sd card:

philtor: The thing is that you just state "it's not working" (exaggerated), without much information. What did you do? Which image did you write how onto what microSD card? How does the cb2 react? What do the leds show? What about the serial console? What screens do you have connected?

could be, depends on the image. The one I wrote needed a different partition table with a separate boot partition since that wasn't in the image
