trying to book bodhi linux on a mk802 which (I think) is a cs102 (allwinner a10s) (1G RAM, 4G internal sd) ... using the stock bodhi for 1G and 720 graphics .. this does not boot ...
<stephenp>
what is the best forum to investigate and learn more about this ...as it seems the cs102 is using the a10s which is incompatable with the existing binary distributions for the original mk802
<stephenp>
Thanks

lkcl: hi
<slapin_nb>
lkcl: that part you describe was mindless clone of what Olimex do on their A13-OLinuXino, and it is part people dislike most...
<slapin_nb>
lkcl: and in DDR3 guidelines they say that address lines are more or less tolerant to their size difference unlike data lines and differential pairs...
<slapin_nb>
damn...

mnemoc, are you here ?
<mnemoc>
Alex1269: sort of
<Alex1269>
:) Hi
<mnemoc>
hi
<Alex1269>
I added a media/rc ir driver several weeks ago but it looks like it lost :)
<Alex1269>
[PATCH v2] Added sunxi CIR rc driver
<mnemoc>
Alex1269: thing is... why a new driver instead of fixing/improving the current
<mnemoc>
also why not removing the old if this one is equivalent and better
<mnemoc>
Alex1269: also, #linux-sunxi is a better place for that ;-)
<Alex1269>
O... new channel.... didn't noticed
<Alex1269>
new driver because old one was in wrong place and didn't use media/rc subsystem with in-kernel decoders
<mnemoc>
then a 2/2 should remove the old, doesn't it?
Undertasker has left #arm-netbook [#arm-netbook]
<Alex1269>
I'm not sure - it can be left for compatibility - i beleeve some distribs use it
<mnemoc>
then let's keep the same name
<Alex1269>
But I think I can add a patch to remove old one. It supports only NEC and can't work with lirc directly and new one use same eventX device file
<Alex1269>
old one use sun4 name but can work with sun5 too - this is wrong I think
<mnemoc>
the compatibility thing can be solved with an alias, or two
<Alex1269>
Hm...
<Alex1269>
I'll check if this can be done...
<mnemoc>
leaving deprecated drivers in the tree only increases the chaos
<Alex1269>
Ok :)
<mnemoc>
:)
<mnemoc>
please see if we can do the same with the ugly gpio driver too
