<DocScrutinizer05> [2015-07-10 Fri 09:26:54] <DocScrutinizer05> err. Anonymous fulfillment? haha
<DocScrutinizer05> [2015-07-10 Fri 09:27:40] <DocScrutinizer05> we offer that when somebody orders 50 (like we have recently). Pays bitcoin and wants to pick up the devices personally. No problem - for 50
<DocScrutinizer05> what do people think? they tell me where to fly to and which bar to wait for a guy with the black hat, to hand over the parcel under the table?
<DocScrutinizer05> btw in whole Europe I'd think bank wire is a pretty anonymous payment - you enter the bank of your choice (don't use too offensive disguise or you might trigger an alarm!) and pay the amount plus fee, filling the form where to transfer the money to
<DocScrutinizer05> unless you pay >$threshold (money washing laws), you don't need any identity proof to do so
<DocScrutinizer05> we also accept checks, sent by snailmail, as long as our bank accepts them
<DocScrutinizer05> you even can send cash, we don't mind
<DocScrutinizer05> ;-)

<ZetaR> Ugh. Internet here has been up and down up and down because of a failing router, and now that the new one is installed the phone line gets disconnected for some reason.

<ZetaR> DocScrutinizer05: Did someone really pay for 50 Neo900s using Bitcoins? That is pretty cool.
<DocScrutinizer05> not yet
<ZetaR> If a bit TFH.
<DocScrutinizer05> we only negotiated terms, but i'm waiting for 'the action' to happen
<ZetaR> I see. So you are going to receive it using a BC client and then exchange it for Euros?
<ZetaR> IIRC you said before that it ended up being difficult to get Bitcoins exchanged.
<DocScrutinizer05> no, dos1 will/shall manage that
<DocScrutinizer05> he's the only one of the team who has BTC account and experience
<ZetaR> Ah, okay. Hopefully it will work out, since that is a huge order for such a small project.
<ZetaR> I set up a BTC client, but that was a long time ago and I never registered for exchange services.
<DocScrutinizer05> >>I would also like to know where we could get an N900 to develop on. if I can successfully demo a working e-mail + xmpp setup on one, I am sure the order would be over 50 Neo900's<<
<ZetaR> That should be pretty easy to set up.
<DocScrutinizer05> I'm officially offering a job to set up such a N900o config and provide it to Neo900 UG, for payment
<ZetaR> Cool. Was there any crypto requirement?
<DocScrutinizer05> not explicitly
<DocScrutinizer05> though VPN would prolly help a lot
<ZetaR> I have been looking into Email+OpenPGP and chat+OTR
<ZetaR> But I am currently on a pretty slow connection through my N900, because my phone line & DSL got disconnected. =(
<ZetaR> On the other hand, when I got the SIM card for my N900, AT&T rep said to me something like "Uh, your phone shows up as not being Internet capable, so you are getting Internet access for free."
<DocScrutinizer05> LOL
<ZetaR> Apparently clearly seeing a smartphone in front of them is not enough for the rep to override the automatic billing selection.
<DocScrutinizer05> such billing is braindead anyway
<DocScrutinizer05> USA for sure must have the most fsckd up plans I ever heard of
<DocScrutinizer05> meh, make that 'communication infra and concept'
<DocScrutinizer05> land of infinite impossibilities
<DocScrutinizer05> I heard of one carrier who built a gateway using 500 Neo freerunner in a rack
louisdk has joined #neo900
<DocScrutinizer05> I mean - reeeeeeeeaaaally now?
<DocScrutinizer05> (maybe it was only 200, can't recall details)
<ZetaR> Really, why would you do that?
<DocScrutinizer05> NFC
<wpwrak> 500 units sold ? niiiice ;-)
<DocScrutinizer05> wpwrak: you didn't hear of that story?
<DocScrutinizer05> they were pissed that all batteries were dead after 12 months
<wpwrak> ;-)))
<ZetaR> Lol.
<wpwrak> fortunately, they're easily replaced :)
<ZetaR> Its silly to rely on hundreds of tiny batteries when something is on a rack. Just tie everything into a DC bus and use an array of large batteries.
<wpwrak> and no, haven't heard of that story yet. must have been in the "don't tell werner or he'll make fun of it forever" phase :)
<ZetaR> (of course, this is a minor quibble over a much sillier thing)
<DocScrutinizer05> jup, basically that would be the better alternative
<DocScrutinizer05> wpwrak: rotfl
<DocScrutinizer05> I think laf0rge told me about it
<DocScrutinizer05> Harald
<DocScrutinizer05> funny sidenote: probably they used ALSA via USB and thus didn'T suffer buzz iddue
<DocScrutinizer05> issue
<wpwrak> pity. that 500 channel analog audio rig would have been something to behold ;-)
