Okay, so how many drivers would Neo900 lack if somebody took a "simple" OpenBSD image for armv7, tried to add drivers from within Maemo 5, and tried to use it? Would it be able to handle keyboard, keyboard backlight, LCD, touchscreen, speakers?..

I dunno what drivers exist in OpenBSD. You can't add maemo5 drivers

N900 is using a pretty standard (for omap3) way to poll the kbd matrix, so I'd bet there must be a driver for that in OpenBSD

Yes, the NTP servers are important. Cannot mobile devices use GPS satellites for time-syncing, or something? It doesn't have to be done frequently, right?

For more frequent time-checking, cellular towers may be helpful. As well as user-set (through whatever GUI-or-CLI user prefers) NTP server (if you are connecting to Internet regularly enough for that to be useful)
