Heh, the new Linksholder app is intriguing, in how it is made.
<ocdtrekkie>
From the readme file for what it's forked from "The hackfoldr use ethercalc.org sheet as live configating file. Every row of the sheet represent a link. You can also set the link to open in new window, add subfolder, or append colored label"
<ocdtrekkie>
So the developer took and made a fork of the EtherCalc app for Sandstorm, and then stuck the hackfoldr app on top of it.

ocdtrekkie: the guy works with Audrey so I guess they know what they're doing, probably.
<ocdtrekkie>
I just thought it was clever/intriguing.
<kentonv>
though I'm also working on Powerbox specifically so that they can have a Hackfoldr app connect to a separate Ethercalc...
<ocdtrekkie>
Honestly, based on how this app seems to be arranged, I don't think that'd be a good use case for Powerbox.
<ocdtrekkie>
They're effectively using EtherCalc like a database or config file, so it'd be silly to be a separate/visible component.
<kentonv>
well, clearly there's some reason the app was designed to do that rather than just store to a database. My understanding is that they find it pretty useful to edit the Ethercalc directly for large link dumps.
<ocdtrekkie>
That's a decent point.
<kentonv>
in any case they are paying me to make this happen so... I'm gonna make it happen.
<ocdtrekkie>
:D
<ocdtrekkie>
I was kinda wondering like "what does EtherCalc provide this app anyhow?"
<kentonv>
it'll also be nice to have app-to-app Powerbox out there and usable. Actually it's already there, but right now I'm making it extra-easy to import/export HTTP APIs for apps using sandstorm-http-bridge.
<ocdtrekkie>
The existing feature you said doesn't work with sandstorm-http-bridge at all, right?
<kentonv>
yeah

Given that only one app is not using sandstorm-http-bridge, support for it should make Powerbox features much more workable then. :D

ocdtrekkie, there are at least two apps on the app market not using http-bridge: draw.io and collections. There are also several private apps used by us, such as the app index and the feature key vendor.
<kentonv>
but yes, supporting it through http-bridge will be helpful. :)
<kentonv>
oh yeah, Hacker CMS also doesn't use http-bridge
<kentonv>
and Simple Chat, I think
<kentonv>
and Acronymy
<kentonv>
ok, 5 apps not using http-bridge on the app market, and a few off of it. :)
<ocdtrekkie>
Oh, I didn't think about Collections at all.
<ocdtrekkie>
Or some of those.

hi
<asheesh>
Hi DynamicGravity!
<DynamicGravity>
I was wondering if someone could help me out with an installation issue?
<asheesh>
Sure - what's going on?
<asheesh>
I'm pretty available right now, and not very available past 15 min from now.
<asheesh>
So I'd be very happy to help!

I'm getting the WILDCARD_HOST issue. But in the sandstorm.conf i have it setup how it said to. http:mysite.net & *.mysite.net
<DynamicGravity>
would I also have to configure MX records from my side? Im not using sandcats, I purchased my own domain name. And I configured it to point at the correct IP address.
<asheesh>
DynamicGravity: Hi!
<asheesh>
Sorry I wandered off for a sec.
<DynamicGravity>
oh you're fine
<asheesh>
DynamicGravity: Can you paste your entire sandstorm.conf to a site like gist.github.com ?
<DynamicGravity>
sure
<asheesh>
I'm glad you're using your own domain; I think that's one of the more fun ways to use Sandstorm.
<asheesh>
Sweet.
<asheesh>
I say that as the author of the sandcats.io service, and as the author of that WILDCARD_HOST warning.
<asheesh>
The warning exists to help people *succeed* at using their own domain :)
<DynamicGravity>
:)
<DynamicGravity>
i pmed it to you
