<Perelandric> Are there any instructions for statically linking to a Pony library?
<Perelandric> I've compiled using `--library` and am trying to link it in a Go program.
<Perelandric> I've done it before with other languages, but can't quite get this right.
<Perelandric> Just using a simple test so far: https://gist.github.com/Perelandric/133e3e1fa3d35cc9d1d371f3ef1627f1
<Perelandric> I try to build the Go program, and get lots of errors pointing to the generated pony header file.

<SeanTAllen> not that i am aware of Perelandric. I haven't tried to do it.

* SeanTAllen if you figure it out Perelandric, that would be a great addition to the tutorial
<Perelandric> I'll keep tinkering and see if I can figure it out.

<malthe> SeanTAllen: ok I don't mean the mascot there, main's cool, but I thought perhaps we could have a community-driven process around the website/logo thing.
<malthe> right there basically isn't a website.

<ohir> malthe: nope. The logo, the mascot and like should not be a 'community' thing. I deem such things are reserved to the inventor (or starting team).
<ohir> malthe: at most the open call for gifted people to contribute propositions to the core team
<ohir> malthe: as for "but if a horse is in there it's quickly my little pony". Excuse me, but the single other meaning that is recognized points to the small boottle of liquor ;-)

<malthe> ohir: that's definitely valid, but I guess it depends on the project, e.g. https://wiki.haskell.org/Haskell_logos/New_logo_ideas
<malthe> fair amount of contributions, some of them valuable, some not so much.

<SeanTAllen> we asked the community for help with logos earlier in the year. Jason stepped forward and worked tirelessly with Sylvan and myself and produced stuff we are very happy with. We aren't reopening that anytime soon.
<malthe> got it. I was just responding to ohir.

<jemc> malthe: when I try to run your `split_zc` branch to run your benchmark, I'm seeing this error when compiling: `ponyc: Instructions.cpp:1083: void llvm::StoreInst::AssertOK(): Assertion `getOperand(0)->getType() == cast<PointerType>(getOperand(1)->getType())->getElementType() && "Ptr must be a pointer to Val type!"' failed.`
<jemc> malthe: I think you were seeing this yesterday
<jemc> err.. not yesterday, but earlier
<SeanTAllen> and it went away when he went to llvm 3.9 apparently
<jemc> ah, right - I'll try that
<jemc> btw I was seeing this error with both llvm 3.8.0 and 3.8.1 - does this mean that we can't say we support 3.8.1 anymore?

<SeanTAllen> i wonder if its in 3.7 etc as well
<SeanTAllen> saying we support 3.8.1 means we would fix our stuff so it doesnt happen with 3.8.1 or ya, dropping 3.8 support
