<houkime>
completed linear tranform of the separator metal edge
<houkime>
drew projection on pcb
<houkime>
we have around 1.6 mm spare
<houkime>
which is great news
<houkime>
Also I will look at connectors again tomorrow. If there are good connectors of 5.6 mm footprint (digikey doesn't have this as a parameter), we could achieve 1.6+0.8mm spare space, which is barely enough to place 2 rows of esd.
<houkime>
end one row of esd we can have as a bonus because usb connector is low and allows to place esd above it.

sorry you lost me a while ago
<DocScrutinizer51>
no idea about 'accurately determine coorespondence between case and pcb coords'
<houkime>
as a bonus I now know all case constraints cause I have a transform. Although y-wise it might have a bit of a shrinkage because it seems like case was a little bit 3d-rotated around x-axis when scanned.

probably can calculate this also.
<DocScrutinizer51>
if you need any dimensions, let me know end of months and I will grab my caliper and give you +-0.05mm precision values of ehatever you need
<houkime>
not now, scans seem to be accurate enough if correctly processed.
<houkime>
gonna sleep. Bye.

ok, seems like it is possible to widen bob neck to 6.4 mm
<houkime>
which is quite wonderful because it fits a connector with a courtyard

btw do we even need a battery cover detector? It's not like we're going to shutdown because of user opening the case. Otherwise using hackerbus is sort of limited.
xes has joined #neo900
<houkime>
also its vanilla spot is occupied by hackerbus.
<houkime>
it probably will still sense sth even farther away but recalibration might be needed.
<houkime>
footprints for flash leds seem to be a little bit broken.

seems like the only sensible place for a privacy led is near flashes, however it will be then seen only with camera lid open
<houkime>
and that' when original neo900 autostarts its camera

houkime: not 100% shom buch this matter,s but i (htought) neo900's n900-compatibility was a 'thing' and so working old-maemo (which expects to unmount sd-card automatically when cover removed) important...?
pkill9 has quit [Quit: WeeChat 2.1]
<houkime>
Didn't think about sd unmounting. hm-hm. However it is still a matter of fact that it's original spot is obligatory occupied by hackerbus and I'm not really sure what distance away from vanilla spot it will be able to work properly.
<houkime>
cover detector is a hall detector, it senses magnetic field and pretty much only if lines are oriented in a particular way (direction-sensitive)
<houkime>
I'm not really sure a field of what object it should have been sensing in vanilla.
<houkime>
And how strong this field is (affects maximum distance where z-projection is sensible). Is there a magnet implanted in a back of case?

trying to configure bob with connector in the neck. Sorts of work but also sorts of doesn't
<houkime>
quite a hades
<houkime>
esp.when trying to isolate protected tracks from unprotected, that's where it starts to fail
<houkime>
also tented vias under connector is not the safest option in the world because it is only soldermask which prevents shorts in this scenario.
Pali has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<houkime>
will try both variants of connector positions, with neck or without and see what's best.
<houkime>
with connector in the neck it has a bonus that usb chips on LOWER can be much closer to usb port that way
<houkime>
it can also provide 6 hook signals and some neck signals right where they are needed.
