20:25 <Joerg-Neo900> note that N900 by mechanical design is NOT very sturdy against pressure applied to keyboard. Such force will bend the PCB and thus possibly result in modem chipset BGA solder points breaking and snapping open

20:28 <Joerg-Neo900> some devices are more prone to such defect than others (just like some are more susceptible to USB jack coming loose), due to a certain number of devices obviously suffered 'issues' during reflow soldering that resulted in poor or partial and weak solder points

20:29 <Joerg-Neo900> Neo900 takes care about all this, by taking into account the lessons learned from N900 and designing the PCB and mechanical design in a way that avoids such weaknesses

20:31 <Joerg-Neo900> e.g we support the PCB with some mechanical posts so it hardly can bend at all even with high pressure to keybpard. We also place chips in a way that makes such issues less likely
