sixwheeledbeast^: does navigation work on n900?
<pigeons>
yes
<pigeons>
i dont think the infrastructure still runs for the bundled navigation app, but navigation with gps in other programs works

DocScrutinizer05: you were right about fsck (fsck.vfat) on the MyDocs partition taking ages happening every boot. A wheezy-backports version of dosfstools was able to 'fix' the filesystem easily (where maemo fsck wouldn't). I may well convert that to ext4 too. I note, however, that even with fsck-only that system still takes quite some time to get to point of mounting MyDocs // mmc1 partitions on booting.
<enyc>
DocScrutinizer05: err... even with fsck 'fixed'

Never really used ovi maps tbh but there are a few third party navigation apps. SMM10 and modRana being two I use.
<sixwheeledbeast^>
Plus any browser based solutions?

ovi maps stopped working few months ago
<jurov>
looks like whoever was running them, pulled the plug
<jurov>
at first glance it may appear to work if you have some area cached, but try navigation
<ShadowJK>
They ran it for almost 10 years, impressive

atk: qml is depreciated I believe. GTK or Qt5 are the most upto date I believe.
<sixwheeledbeast^>
Qt5 is for Harmattan/Jolla I would guess

Works fine for online routing.
