they opened it, inspected it (probably to check I wasn't sneaking baby formula or something like that), started to play with it until i told them they may damage it, but overall it was a relatively painless experience

That's good. Atom decided to upgrade without my consent, and thanks to version mismatch in a plugin, I lost all changes in open files. Not a HUGE deal, but... small wonder why people don't like updating
